I just put on a 1" fully clipped and windowed hacksaw pre drilled for 144 with sindle double 1.175 gold diggers. I had stock 1 1/4 ripsaw with 1.375 megabites last year. how much if any will I gain on top ? I think the 1" w. 1.175's is gonna hook good on hard pack and Ice right? will I notice a difference in 1.175 stud over 1.075 stud? I hope to gain 2-5 mph over last set up. ant thoughts? am I asking too much leab=ving all else alone? I think I will try the silver secondary spring wrapped 100 degrees tto. heard some good things about it. the rest of clutching is stock. 6000 miles on sled clutch same as factory not even freshened up just cleaned well regularly.

With the 1" i would of installed the 1.075 for top speed,if you want to hook hard than stay with the 1.175,in fact the 1.175 on that track will hook way better than what it replaced. But if top speed is what you are after, should of opted for the iceattack track,it is 1.063 hacksaw lug,and has 256 presharpened points already installed into the top of the lugs, and it only weighs 37-39lbs.badlarry said:I just put on a 1" fully clipped and windowed hacksaw pre drilled for 144 with sindle double 1.175 gold diggers. I would have to agree with the ice attack. I put one on my doo 800 last year and man does that thing hook up. Also noticed that it has picked up about 3 mph on a gps across a lake. Ir really made my clutch kit come to life also. I noticed the clutch before but not like now.I have read since that some people are having problems with this track coming apart. I guess they are single ply but I have almost 1000 miles on mine and still looks like the day I put it on. Very impressed with it so far.

IMO predator is the only way to go.....it will outlast the hack or rip 2 to 1 ......heard horror stories about ice attacks coming apart at hi speeds.
top speed on ice they are all same(predator, hacksaw) but in snow the predator will outpull the hack(14")
predator lugs are much harder and work well for longevity....i have been running predators since early 90s....they came on every mach i ever owned and now at 6500 miles i just replaced my first predator with another on my RTX and it still looked real good!
i always run 96 1.175 goldiggers.

I am currently torn between these two tracks.
Ice attack 1.063" @ 43 lbs and
Predator 1" @ 42lbs + 6 - 8lbs for studs.
I've heard and read so many different views on these two tracks I really can't decide. I know I have to make up my mind soon as snow is starting to fly.
How much top end difference will there be with the extra weight of a studded track vs a prestudded on, Ice, hardpack, loose?
I do know that the predator 136 is now obsolete and was told that the 121 will be done next year as well. Are camo engineers trying to tell us something?

if you want the track to last, get predator....if the predator(carve now) get discontinued that will be a sad day...these rips and hacks soft lugs dont last near as long IMO.

the 1 inch lug track should give you better topend if you put as many studs as you had in youre previous track the studs are a bit long for my tastes as for the prestudded ice claw, attack, ripper i had two claw tracks the lugs delaminated in 1000 km on both tracksthe lugs gust pulled off thecords no cuts in the cord

Also the predator is MUCH better in loose and probably the same as the hack in the hardpack. Go with predator for sure

So the extra weight of the studs doesn't matter too much then for top end?
Spddmon, thanks for the input. I think the ice attak (hacksaw) is a better or more robust design than the discontinued ice claw. I see you are up Onaping Lake... I spend quite a bit of time up there in the winter as well.
Kinger, I see from your signature that you are running a hacksaw now, did you ever run a predator?

I had a predator 1.25" and loved it the best for my riding. I also had a predator 1", ripsaw, and so far the predator in either lug size kills them all. Trying the hacksaw this winter because it came on the sled I bought. I have a feeling I will be throwing it away and going predator next year.

Something nobody has mentioned is side bite? The Predator may have a little less, which for my riding style might be a good thing....

I have both tracks 1.25 Rip & 1 inch Hack.I have 144 1.375 studs up the middle in the Ripsaw. My best mph with the Ripsaw with 22/38 gearing is 113 mph on GPS. I also had the same mph with or without the studs in 1.25 Ripsaw.
The best mph with the 1 inch Hacksaw and 144 1.175 up the middle is 116 mph with 22/38 gearing.I know it would have had a few more mph if I would have used my 23/38 gearing.
You will go faster with the Hacksaw for sure.It just won't bite as hard from a stop.Works killer on a roll on.

can't believe some guys obsess over 3mph. I have the Predator, and have abt 3500 mi on it. The lugs last a long time becuz of the compound, but unlike the Hack, which will flex, the Pred's lugs tear off.......horse a piece as far as wear goes.
