2017 sidewinder 137 xtx le, 1.75 backcountry, slp Mohawk skis. 215lb rider.
Center shock is a hpg shock on this sled and rest are qs3 shocks.
I installed the 160 lb. Center spring and set limited strap all the way loose with spring tightened enough to not rattle. Too much teeter tottering and made steering hard going into corners when chassis unloaded onto front end.
Went to second hole on limiter strap and adjusted spring tension again. Still too much load on front end when letting off throttle.
Moved limiter strap to third hole.
Adjusted spring several times to get a happy medium. Steers great now and not much chassis roll forward when letting off the throttle. At one point I thought it was good till I was in the stutter bumps, it rode too stiff. Loosened up the spring a turn at a time until the stutter bumps were ok but sled will bottom out now when running thru the rough.
Sled corners like it's on rail now but can be better in all conditions.
Should I look for a progressive rate spring and add a rear limiter strap to limit fwd chassis roll? Or just buy a better center shock with a progressive rate spring.
