For $30....I'm changing them. Old (2 Stroke) habits die hard I guess.

was anyone else concerned about the wear potential cylinder head degradation?

Pardon my lack of knowledge, What is a "booster gap"???

No idea what a booster gap is either. I have never had mototunes problem with the threads. Getting a faster more complete burn is the added power, not an increase in compression from a very small extra electrode. Those two very short electrodes equal the length of a standard plug electrode. Forget the EX. Use the NGK brand, CR10EK. They work! Thats the last I'm going to reply about it. Mike Knapp#17

That's fine Mike, but thanks for saying what I was going to basically say, and that is...this mototune's reasoning for the added power gain is UNEDUCATED.
People, a 'CC', like for example when you say "the chamber is 12.3cc", is a CUBIC CENTIMETER. For those who don't know what a CUBIC Centimeter is, it is about 25% smaller than a single regular playing DICE.
So how does this extra electrode increase compression? I would estimate it to be worth about 0.05cc....inwhich I would be willing to bet each of your cylinders vary more than that!!!!!
So this takes you back to my posts about why this EK plug is actually doing.

Well you cant split a spark in two or the split fires would work for a better burn. The only difference between the cr9e and the cr10ek is the two electrodes on the 10 and the 10 being a colder plug. So the hp increase in every engine these plugs are installed must be due to the small increase in compression giving you a small increase in hp. I still think it is why these plugs work myself.

It's because it's a colder plug....not the increased compression.

Ok then we should try a cr10e (if they even make it) plug and see what the hp increase will be. Same plug without the extra electrode. I would bet it is the same as the cr9e.

there is NO CR10E, and that is probably what happened originally a long time ago. someone wanted a colder plug, and the onyl one available was the 'EK'....

No I dont think so as there is only one electrode my guess is it would be the same as cr9e (stock plug).

Bottom line is the cr10ek work that is a given and give you 1 to 2 more hp for what reason who cares. Use them for more free HP.

My bad...sorry...I was confused on that one...what I meant was, there is NO Cr9EK. So they went with the 10, and they found the added HP DUE to the COLDER PLUG, not the fact they had 2 electrodes. I would suppose they wanted the double electrode because some bikes use it.
But again...the gains aren't from the increased compression..there is not enough increase in compression to warrant any gains in power...
