there is NO CR10E, and that is probably what happened originally a long time ago. someone wanted a colder plug, and the onyl one available was the 'EK'....

Yea there is one.

My bad...sorry...I was confused on that one...what I meant was, there is NO Cr9EK. So they went with the 10, and they found the added HP DUE to the COLDER PLUG, not the fact they had 2 electrodes. I would suppose they wanted the double electrode because some bikes use it.
But again...the gains aren't from the increased compression..there is not enough increase in compression to warrant any gains in power...

There is a cr9ek also.

They run best without plugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turbo Diesel! Anybody know where to get diesel on the trail in the UP? I can't take the plug issue anymore.

Found CR10EK for $6.20 on sparkplugs.com if anyone is interested, not a bad deal, $24.80 for 4... 2-3hp, very cheap..

GL

Why not spend the extra $7 and buy from Ulmer who supports everyone on this site?

I agree with ZR800EFI - spend your money with the guys who advertise here and help us all out with tech info. You will get more power from a colder plug and the double electrode gives you a better spark. The spark acually jumps from both electrodes giving you more of a exposed spark and more power. Just my 2 cents! :o|

Really I would sure like you to prove that. Physics states electricity will always take the shortest best path you cant get dual sparks from one source. How does a colder plug give you more power? Please this I really want to know too. The heat in a plug is for self cleaning in other words it gets hot enough to burn itself clean is all. :o| :o| :o| :o| my turn to bang my head.

Like I said earlier they work so who cares. Each can have their own theory as to why and that is all it is a theory. Bottom line is they work and thats what counts.

I think 87gtnos explained it back on page 2....and his info was gleaned from the NGK tech specialist who I would think has a fairly good handle on how a plug operates.

But..like you said..the bottom line is they work.

Sled Dog, are you serious?? Read my posts, LEARN how a spark plug works. The heat from the plug cleans itself????? WTF??

Some educational reading here...isn't that what these forums are for??

and btw...I don't disagree with them working...but please, understand why they work!! REAL race teams, like NHRA, Nascar, etc, all use heat ranges to fine tune throughout the day.
