2007 Phazer project with my boys

Awesome project. I'm starting to understand clutching a lil bit now. To get advise on where your at gents, not to hijack but for future inquiries, would it be safe to say to watch your rpms from start to top speed in order to dial it in via adjustments.

Yes ATV pro. When done right you will get to rpm as quickly as possible and stay there. Wont matter if you are on traction or spinning to beat the band on ice. Same rpm. I always liked 11500 on Phazer and 11300 as a compromise for MPG.

Got one of each boath work well AAEN is a lot louder

Thanks!!! Saving the clutching to last on my new one :)

Can't wait till my son is old enough to join me, but he's at my side when I'm tinkering on it.

Sorry for hi-jackin Nos!! Great read tho!!

No worries ATV PRO :) This is why I absolutley can't get enough of this site and the most awesome members that contribute to TY ;)!

Clutching is something I started to pick up on when I raced (2) 4 wheelers with snowmobile engines. Then came the snowmobiles and just wanted to make them perform better and get better fuel mileage :)

Crazy little story, but a good laugh..... Went to Manitoba, Canada to a TY ride in 2005, we got there late at night and when we woke up to meet the TY gang ready to go trail riding....there was a guy in the breakfast area with his clutches all tore apart. I thought "WTF?... Problems?" He said "Nope, just not the way i like it". It was a bitterly cold day that morning, had a backpack full of clutching and a smile on his face. His name was Turk :) From that moment, we clicked as friends! One of the good guys whose time in life was cut short by sickness, but his memory, his good hearted will to help people and legend lives on here ;)! I owe a lot to Turk for helping me with my clutching concerns  Turk Ol Buddy!

I have a little donation for the project for you Terry. Needs some work but best sounding exhaust ever on a Phazer. 1:2 Aaen. Will have it in my truck. Stop in at work.

Thank you Bud! :)

Will be stopping in there after work

Digging around my shelf last night I found a set of Hyfax saver wheel kits so I remembered what the slides looked like when we replaced them Monday.....so I thought ... what the heck. It's a good thing I did because the front torque arm (suspension arm) bolt on the right side was missing! Took a ratcheting tie down, strapped it between the rear bumper and the front torque arm and was able to get a new bolt in :) Threads were still there...bolt must have just walked out. Lots of blue loctite this time!

To Phazer owners who want to change their secondary to a newer style that uses the helix's that mount on the outside..... Here is what needs to be done. Find a secondary from an SRX/SXR/RX1 or Apex. (The new Viper and Nytro will not work, spline shaft are larger on these). Have a machine shop remove 1.250" of the splines inside the diameter of the steel shaft from the rear (opposite side of where the helix would mount). This will mount up perfectly and still provide enough spline to work. What's left is finding a bolt long enough to mount the secondary as it's a little longer than the stock secondary. I picked one up for $4 and then had a piece of aluminum that fit into the end of the clutch and butt up with the end of the seconday shaft. The reason for the spacer is to have the bolt tight and let the clutch float just a little bit. (Washers could be used also but would need about 12-14). Never did like the old style secondary with the helix on the back. Now I can remove a belt in like 3 seconds by pushing on the helix, not to mention I can use all my latest clutching parts to get the feel I want :)

Got those bushing from up bushman installed and will try them today, just fixing plastic connectors with aluminum tale and expoxy and just punch the holes out later
