Both wavy washers are installed.
Any issues with ice build up on the exposed section of the steering post (in the pyramidal subframe area)? I know this area shouldn't see any heat, but still wondering whether the bearing/bushing on the steering post is at all affected by exposure to the elements.

No, not yet anyway.

One thing I noticed about my Lightweight Rear Suspension Kit (which is manufactured by BDX) was that the rear swingarm had a lot of side-to-side freeplay between the upper idlers. Maybe they did a mistake with the length of the upper tube of the rear swingarm, or the distance between the upper idlers...? Like Mike says, using shims or thin wave washers to reduce the free play does not hurt.

I am running the oem wavy washers.Like Mike says, using shims or thin wave washers to reduce the free play does not hurt.
Got the cat wheels today and everything mounted up. Not as nice as the OFT wheels but a heck of a lot lighter. The wheels seem pretty strong being bolted together but only time will tell if they hold up. I'm also anxious to see how much ice and snow they hold.
OFT axle with both wheels and mount bolts is 4 lbs 4 oz.
Ice Age axle with both cat wheels and the alu end nut is 2 lbs 7 ounces
Almost a 2 pound savings.

A friend of mine had a look at a Summit rear axle and wheel. He said they are also two wheels but somehow joined together by a large diameter pipe. This sounds like it wouldn't fill up with snow.

Ive got about 200 miles on it now and everything seems fine. No bends or cracks in the subframe or diecast(yet), engine mounts are still together, turbo hanger isn't cracked. Today was deep with a lot of downhill carving and it goes through the snow just as good as it did with front plastic. I wasn't sure how the open front was going to work but it doesn't hinder deep snow performance at all and there's no place for snow to build up. My RPM's are low, around 8,200 and I have some belt slippage up high but that can be fixed.
One thing I'll probably do this summer is drill out all the cherry max rivets and powdercoat the tunnel skin. It's not going to be an easy job but the bare aluminum holds snow and builds up ice like crazy. I might have to try a few spray on products and see if I can find something that will work good enough to keep from having to powdercoat.
This one is from today.

I had my tunnel powdercoated last year. It helped a lot with buildup on the tunnel. I noticed this year running the turbo with the open skinz seat much like yours I get a lot more ice buildup that I did before. I think a lot of it is just due to the snow melting off of the turbo.

Video my riding buddy took. RPMs were still about 800 low.

Great Vid! Those are some beautiful turns on some epic snow...you lucky dog.
I don't think I'd last 2 hours in snow like that, but man I'd be on it until my arms fell off.
You can really see the benefit of your steering setup. Its the one thing on my sled I wish I could change. I am getting a lot of forearm strain (old age) and find the steering really uncomfortable. The OFT Relo works, but its not enough.
Are you running wider handlebars? Looks that way, but it might just be the look too.
