2019/2020 Bogie Wheels

The first Apex idler wheels had the rubber on the perimeter come off the first season or so.
These are broken spokes!
Looks like they tried to give a "spoke" look to the new wheels.
It also looks like they forgot to test them.

Under warranty, you'll probably get the same wheels.
THIS is where a good company shows it's colors.....................hopefully the new GREEN is a good color from here on out

Trying to get my 6 covered under warranty right now. But they are saying it must have been studs or track alignment. The Yamaha rep is coming to look at my sled on December 16th. Not holding my breath but maybe they’ll cover some of the cost.
if not I’ll be looking for another option

Back in the old days we were told by people smarter than us that the more wheels you had in the suspension the slower you would go. Also never put in larger wheels. Every one is an energy sucker. They all create drag. There is a reason Yamaha went to a smaller diameter wheel for the first year of the SRX. Top end.

Doe anyone with a 19 SRX run w/out studs? I guess if they have good looking wheels, there is your answser.

I'm only studed in the middle, yet one of the outside wheels let go, so it doesnt matter. Local Doo dealer had Open House today with 15% off, so I picked up 6 of them at $25ea. I think this was the most cost effective option. Thanks for sharing that info Powder Falcon!

@JMS@Yamaha

Thats some piss poor value engineering there. '17 wheels I have on my sled are perfect (and I've ridden some real #*$&@ at times). 8JP-G7310-10-00 $38 . These '19 wheels 8JR-G7310-20-00 $13. I'd be demanding my dealer to replace with old model number after this thread. My 06 Apex GT came with shitty wheels too and were replaced under warranty. In fact I used to carry 2 spares on saddlebag trips.

That is a good price if they stay together.
I just bought a couple from my dealer and after their everyday discount to me, the price was $40 per.
Had a small piece of rubber missing from one of the inside wheels that I found during my pre season suspension tear down. It may have lasted another season but why chance it, so I also bought an extra.

These new wheels looked like an exact replacement. Same everything, and with 5500 miles on my 17 and this being it’s first wheel needed I called that not too bad.

I did put a JT stealth wheel kit on it when it only had a bit under 500 miles. Put that trihub on a buddies RTX with some added Yamaha 4th wheel kit at the end of last season. That trihub needs work already I was told!,

The doo idlers do hold up well.....just be sure they will fit!

I had decent life with my stock 18 wheels, but INNERS over stud heads would only go 1400 miles then begin to chunk.

Yes good point Dan, I should have mentioned that I ran an Ice Attack track, so no studs to screw with the wheels!

Stock track with your stud pattern this year. But I chose one size shorter then what yours had.

Here you go Byam!!

Also, went to visit one of my good Buds on Sat who owns a Tcat. He upgraded his rear axle and so graciously donated his old one to me. I cut the spacer and added a 4th wheel.

With all these changes I should gain at least 1 mph!! Lol.
