So this inventory reduction is a good thing for Yamaha and I fully agree that there are way too many models. Maybe less models but some choice as to options for spring orders. But how about the dealers? Ski Doo has a much revisd 600 and a new 900 turbo, Polaris has some new models and a new 850, Cat has some nice updates and the electronic shocks. Yamaha dealers have a couple very nice Sidewinder models and a bunch of 1-3 year old sleds at good prices. Can't see dealers making a lot on these closeouts. Also cant see a lot of traffic in showrooms................ Maybe it will be good long term, hopefully.

I have been saying this all along!! A good part of the reason Yamaha sells less sleds is the 4s engine run forever! Much like buying a 4 wheeler, they run and run, why buy every 2-3 years. I sold my 2s Viper with 9600+ miles....yeh unheard of territory for most 2s, especially an E-Tec Doo. Then I bought my Attak with 12,000 miles on it already. I now have 16,000 miles on it. Had this been a 2s I would not even had considered it. It still runs like a scalded mule.

Speaking of a mule......I know Nick Keller. He's as tough as a mule himself, I don't know anyone that can put 500 miles a day on and just get up and do it again and again, 7 days a week all winter long. He's a tough fella. He would have never done those miles on anything else and he told me that. He switched to Yamaha for that reason.

I agree with you & also know Nick. I have ridden with him a few times.

Lol I had a customer ask me why I still run my 2009 Grizzly 700 and not a 2016+ new design. 3100 miles and never missed a beat. No reason to update!

Is this the future? Supposedly, this is a Canadian-made 2019 sled.
Looks to have Doo, Cat and Poo design elements. Electric motor, no CVT, 100 kilometer (approx. 60 miles) range, weight under 500 lbs, Fast charge to 80% of batteries in 20 minutes (optional).

Don't shoot the messenger. Personally, I think EVs and the "environmental concerns" being fed to consumers as a rationale for making them is a con. The market just isn't big enough to impactfully affect greenhouse gasses. Certainly not the snowmobile market. Anyone who says differently is lying. We can agree to disagree on that, but at least be honest about true cost of ownership. For example, what is the true cost to replace the batteries? I recently read that car dealerships are starting to get inquiries from Tesla vehicle owners about the trade-in value of their vehicles, and most dealers have no idea of how give them a valuation. Just something to think about before jumping on the EV bandwagon. Okay, stepping off the soapbox now. Enjoy the new world of Electric Vehicles, now available in snowmobile flavor.

I just ordered a pipe and tune for it.

Ya know, you weren't even sure you wanted a Sidewinder. Now your getting it all tweeked out. Lol!
Next season you'll be inquiring about a speed track and how fast should I be in 1000'? Lol. That's awesome.

Man.....idk. last time I looked Yamaha & Arctic Cat combined, couldn't get that done.

Jmho, I just want to see everyone thrive. And push each other back & forth. With us getting the very best that can be offered. Money is getting tight.

It was snowtech. Not sure how to do a link here. Plus, it's past my nap time!

Went to the Lake Geneva Snocross race Friday night. They, like they always do, had a good collection of the new models there. New models being model year 2019! Good showing especially Cats. No Yamahas! In my opinion there will be no 2020! The 2019 SRX is Yamaha's swan song! This sucks and is very depressing.

The “Srx” is a cat with Yamaha engine with turbo bandaid on it. I am sure you saw the AC version. They will be there when a real Yamaha comes out or they buy cat and make them all Yamaha’s! There was a few years that Yamaha didn’t do Geneva. Like me and most they are saving money for the big day!

At the races again today and will be tomorrow! Talked to the dealer who has sponsored this race since the beginning! He didn’t paint a good picture for Yamaha. He said right now there’s barely enough room for 3 oem’s! He also said that Textron will be investing a lot into Cat! They plan on being on top in a few years! He also said Yamaha screwed up by not buying Cat!
