If the production cut was made to deplete inventory which I believe it was. Then there won't be new sleds till those in inventory are gone even if it takes 3 years. That's how it works with the other lines. So YOU guys need to go buy up all the sleds in inventory so I can get my hands on the 2 cyl gear reduction 900 cc Turbo with Cast bulkhead,ProCross/Race front end and Carbon Fibre tunnel and a REAL SRX with a 210 hp NA Crossplane 4cyl in it. See the dilemma?

From what I hear, the 17 and 18 leftover inventory is already all allocated. Also heard that Yamaha bought a large warehouse facility in Georgia, which leads me to think there could be Yamaha sleds coming out of the Georgia plant. As I stated in another post, for me the production cut was the best part about the 19 release.

Saw a lot of procross cats on tug hill yesterday, a few yammy cats, and 2 sidewinders, including the one I was on. Too many ski doos...lol...several real Yamahas, like nytros and a rage and vectors and apexs. ...plus a softball game at the hook and ladder, wearing snoshoes!!
I think Yammy will work with cat as long as it's mutually beneficial. I can actually see Cat designers hitting a homerun, with improved yamaha quality, and maybe get some behind the scenes tech for the 2 strokes, and rebuild thier reputation. New completely Japanes sled....I just don't see it in the near future.
Some tug hill 'bilin pics...it ain't over til the fat sleds blow!!lol
My sidewinder and nytro was there on Saturday covered in mud. Ha ha. Got a lot of good riding in this weekend. The softball game was pretty entertaining.

I only saw a blue sidewinder, but several fxnytros!
I stayed out of the mud, because we have lots of snow home, and some awesome mud holes! I groomed parts of our trails last night and they are setting up nice, but some idiot decided to hit a state troopers well casing, so he closed his land...
But to contribute slightly to the thread, even if yamaha builds an entire sled, what if I like the cat suspension better? It does work pretty well, imo.

Lol yeah i see it. im going to need to save more money.

I stand corrected. I just talked to good buddy that bought a 17 Viper RTX. Brand New, 1 year factory warranty option four full 5 year. $7900! Wow at that price a second sled is affordable. They will move them. Weak rods and all thats alot of sled for that kind of money. 2020 is looking possible for Japan model.

When you guys speak of "Japan model" what are you saying? the sleds will be manufactured in Japan? I will be shocked if ANY more Yamaha sleds are made in Japan.

Japan meaning Yamaha built. Either Yamaha will buy cat or build them themselves but they will be built in Yamaha factory. I suspect some models will always be built in Japan. Like are currently being built now. VX and such.

jon the more I ride sleds of other makes and 2 strokes I see why people are buying them. Most do not ride big miles. These others are better in a FUN way. Not more powerful, not more comfortable and not better handling on trail. The off trail day really opened my eyes even on the big pig 800RR. That sled was way easier to toss around than a Viper and it has body work that makes it feel like riding a Cow compared to a Poo or Doo. Phazer has that feel but was always so top heavy it got away from ya unexpectedly. I cant imagine how a big Track on a Poo or Polaris would be!

I hear ya on the weight thing, and throwing them around so to speak.. This is where I get my Cat 6000 thoughts. That sled is DAMN light, and perfect for my lady and actually I might have to break the motor in. If YOU know what i mean.. But its the light weight snappy fun factor that is appealing

We need 2-3 outstanding snow years Nationally before Yammie even dreams of building their own sled and even then I don't see it happening. I see a better chance at the Yamaha brand going by the wayside and just building engines for Cat models than them coming out with a new chassis/sled on their own.

I don't see Textron selling off the Cat sled line because it eats up OH in the ATV production lines and they moved the Stampede models from Georgia to TRF's.

Textron also gets pretty good carryover from the sled die hards to their ATV's. Might be foolish to give that up.

You have to wonder how serious a mfg is when they have 1 model in a segment that covers around 30% of the market (Mountain).

Inside the numbers.

Idk.....procross has a run time of going on 7seasons. This along with Japan product has miles as well.

So buying arctic Cat will keep Yamaha in game. Which is great. Quality will definitely be improved on Cat product. But I think some, including myself are looking for more.
Either way.
