Sounds like 23 Srx is the last of the run for the king . Will the 998 be put into another chassis to live again?

Latest issue of Snowtech, they claim to have heard rumors that Polaris shoe horned a 998 turbo in the Matrix Chassis.

I can't confirm or deny the validity of that rumor, but will speculate that if true, that 998 turbo, with a tune, in a Polaris Chassis, would absolutely annihilate anything current.

I would be the first in line to buy one!!

Bingo … i heard same kind of rumor. It would be a great sled , just fix the ski lift at wide open throttle. They currently have the the fastest stock 850 from the group I ride with & the 7s display with gps is the best gauges out there .

One things for sure, you won’t be riding a Yamaha, so start buying your Polaris gear boys, and hope you like recalls, just one question, how many times were your yamacats recalled? I’ll wait.

Where is it stated that it's the last year of the engine supplier agreement?

AC just announced their Wildcat XX Black Hills Edition for 2023 and that is their flagship SXS for now. Or are you referring to just the sled agreement?

Had a 2013 polaris switchback assault and 2018 switchback assault, both 800’s and they flew up top, especially for 144’s. Crazy effecient. I agree 100% with fleecer that a 998 in there would be piece of cake to setup and make fly for the big too end guys. Problem is 98% of the posts on this site are complaining about the same problems over and over while there is literally a library of fixes available here. Now theres rumor of 998 going into another chassis and the criticism is gonna set in and concern for all the problems were gonna have. Same crap, different sled……..fix it and ride, simple as that.

I'd welcome this change if it were to happen. I prefer the ergonomics of the Polaris chassis. I also love the way they look.

The bigger question is "does Yamaha want to be in the sled business or just be an engine supplier?" Until that is answered, the future cannot be easily predicted. If they want to be in the sled business, they either have to build a sled factory or have someone make them for them. IF we see a Yamaha model built on the new cat chassis, they will be with cat for the foreseeable future. IF not, they will go the supplier route. I cannot imagine Doo or Poo building Yamaha sleds. By the way, Yamaha could be engineering a new engine for the new cat chassis right now for all we know.

I thought I saw the agreement was extended to 2025.
I would guess we haven't seen the last of the Pro-Cross by a long shot. That chassis will still be around for a while.

Two model years is a blink of an eye for manufacturing planning. The 2025's are already being worked on. Maybe cat will put their new belt drive with a new shaft on the procross in honor of this forum. LOL

I agree the procross chassis will be around for a while probably with a new kid frame in 2025.
