Holy sh!t, over 1700 kms, not sure if we’ll make it!!!!pro116 said:Don,the race is being held at Martin,MI.Jamie Bellman will be putting it on there all ready have an aspahlt and grass drag race there now the amsnow shoot out so it should be a huge event 3 races at one plce.

I'll be out Sunday for our first weekend here. Just test and tune so I hope to get a decent number of runs in. Of course we have beautiful weather now and they're calling for showers on the weekend. Hopefully they hold off. Saturday will be busy for me as I still have a bunch of stuff to do to get ready.

O.K. Had a crappy start with showers ending in the morning, and the officials trying to dry it up. Finally got to run after the wife showed up with the air dam for the SRX. The Attak ran good, but spun and hopped like a dolphin. And the SRX had a dead cylinder, (magneto side).
Came home early and went thru everything. Going to run the SRX tomorrow for eliminations.
Temp was 67 degrees, and humidity was 91%. Headwind of 10-14mph.
1st run - Attak (spun and hopped) lane 1, reaction .061 (.000 is perfect)
1.530 60ft. - 6.953 1/8mile @ 96.106mph - 11.214 1/4mile @ 111.889mph
1st run - SRX (new plugs, but not firing on all 3 untill revved up) reaction .023
1.804 60ft. - 6.785 1/8mile @ 104.522mph - 10.688 1/4mile @ 121.980mph
2nd run Attak - reaction .036
1.551 60ft. - 6.989 1/8mile @ 94.704mph - 11.256 1/4mile @ 111.803mph
2nd run SRX (new plugs again, and still had fuel problem) reaction .099
1.674 60ft. - 6.630 1/8mile @ 105.193mph - 10.509 1/4mile @ 122.766mph
Came home early, and cleaned out all carbs again. Must have had something in there, cause when I put it back together, it fired right up, and ran like it should. SRX should be running 9.50's

Opening day
Temp went from 50° to middle 60°s, turning cloudy with showers early, then clearing to sunny conditions. Got a late start as the track needed to be dried off.
Decided to run the SRX, and leave the Attak home to work on suspension issues.
1st time run - lane 1 (reaction .035)

2nd time run - lane 2 (reaction .111)
1.570 60ft. - 6.337 1/8mile @ 109.769mph - 10.040 1/4mile @ 128.866mph
1st round - Lane choice gave me lane 1 (reaction .042, but lane 2 redlighted before I did) Dial in was 9.98
1.595 60ft. - 6.302 1/8mile @ 110.373mph - 9.988 1/4mile @ 129.398mph
(won 1st round)
2nd round - Lane choice gave me lane 1(reaction .004, lane 2 relighted -.104)
Dial in was 9.98
1.606 60ft. - 6.385 1/8mile @ 108.685mph - 10.131 1/4mile @ 127.248mph
(won 2nd round, but same carb was giving me problems again)
3rd round - Lane choice gave me lane 1 (reaction .019) Dial in was 9.99
1.554 60ft. - 6.299 1/8mile @ 110.107mph - 10.080 1/4mile @ 117.258mph
(won 3rd round on the brakes. win margin was .030)
4th round - Lane 1 (reaction -.030) Dial in was 9.99
1.526 60ft. - 6.332 1/8mile @ 109.856mph - 10.038 1/4mile @ 128.358mph

SRX ran good untill the last round, and the magneto side carb decided to not provide fuel to the cylinder again. Hit the throttle, then it ran the 1/4 o.k., but need to clean the carbs again.

The first two passes only slick cars were allowed to run and I got in on some decent traction. The day before they had 60+ sport compact cars show up so there was no rubber down on the track to speak of.
The sled is a 2006 Apex ER with reverse still hooked up and 103 miles on it.

ET: 10.753
MPH: 121.111
4th Run: Tried More tip weight with Ulmer Stage 2 Kit and spun bad, traction was going away.

MPH: 100.920
ET: 10.864

ET: 10.762

660': 7.080
MPH: 99.663
ET: 11.138
MPH: 118.756
Next weekend I will make some adjustments to the rear skid. I simply had the rear shock set too stiff for the traction available and didn't want to make any adjustments at the time at the track. The track is starting to break in now and show some decent wear patterns. Hopefully I can knock some more time off next weekend.

Awesome times for first time out you will only get better as the asphalt track breaks in and it gets warmer out can't wait to see if the excell exhaust does anything for you Once you get into the 1.3 60' you will be in to the low 10's and thats great for a 150 hp sled that weighs that much, but I wish you would have left the S/C on the sled

Stone,
I'm going to try some different things next weekend at the track on test & tune again. I need to soften up the rear shock on the Wahl skid because right now it has no "bite" in it at all, just fish tails.
Pete,
My list of mods is as follows:
-Wahl Bros Skis
-Wahl Rear Skid
-10.5" Track
-2003 RX-1 Seat: $50
-2" Sportech Riser: $20 (replaced stock riser)
-Yamaha SX front shocks: $70
-Short Apex windshield
-Ulmer Racing Stage 2 Clutch Kit
I was only staging in far enough to turn both sets of lights on and after a few runs (figuring out my timing on the lights) I was cutting .540-.550 lights (.500 being perfect).
