Junkie, none of those runs are not on the bottle. SRX and Attak. That was the 1st time out with the Attak, and the thing darn near bucked me off, and put me in the guardrail. I opted to run the SRX Sunday for eliminations, and do some homework on the suspension before I lose it and have a pile of blue up against the rail, or even worse. Had problems with both sleds, and just have to get things figured out.

Got out on the track today at ESTA for a test and tune. First day the track has been open this season so traction was lacking at the beginning but came around as they worked hard on it. Lots of cars, and about twice as many bikes as usual. I had some ups and downs. Started the day with a dead battery, then some plumbing issues.
1st run, just a shake down, taking it easy rolling into the throttle and watching air/fuel ratio
1.95 60' - 7.65 1/8mi @ 105.5 - 11.48 1/4mi @ 119.08
Softened up the suspension a bit as I spun bad and changed primary springs to lower engagement.
2nd run:
1.60 60' - 6.54 1/8mi @ 112.26 - 10.16 1/4mi @ 133.58
spun bad again so I softened it up some more.
1.58 60' - 7.22 1/8mi @ 94.15 - 11.56 1/4mi @ 111.87
this is where I started scratching my head. sled felt like it fowled a plug, but they all looked fine and ran ok in the pits. My next 2 runs had the same results, so I wasn't even holding it past the 1/8mi. Ran the sled on the stand and found one of the pressure lines going to the carbs came off. fixed that and zip tied them on. back in business.
run 6 with lower boost. I had changed pullys troubleshooting the fuel issue:
1.48 60' - 6.36 1/8mi @ 109.22 - 10.11 1/4mi @ 128.93
run 7 back at higher boost:
1.67 60' - 6.67 1/8mi @ 111.94 - 10.29 1/4mi @ 132.78
Too much hp coming off the line. Feels like I'm starting on marbles. Changed gears from 24/38 to 25/38 for tomorrow to help with the spinning, and I'm topped out with the lower combination. Clutching is also off as I'm down 1200rpm at the 1/8mi but still top out where I should at the 1/4mi. Lots to work on, but I've gotta get off the line before I worry about the clutching.

Hey guys! I am still at home with it pouring outside. Will call the track at 8am, and see what is planned.
Anyways, went thru all of the carbs on the SRX, and found the spongy screen filter in the carbs were deteriorating and leaving particles in the float bowls. I ordered new ones, and cleaned out the carbs, replaced the fuel pump, filter and lines. After all that, it was fired up, and had fuel on the ground everywhere. saw the clutch side carb was dumping gas in the cylinder. Took the carb off, and went thru it again, and found a pc. of black plastic in the needle and seat. All fixed, and Tyler's ol'girl sounds awesome. Now, I wish I could run it down the track.
Let you know more tonight.

Another beautiful day at ESTA today. Temps in the 70's and sunny. Traction is starting to come around but I'm still having issues getting off the line. Finally got my last 2 license runs in today. Last night I changed to a 25 top gear and that helped out a lot.
run 1:
1.50 60' - 6.36 1/8mi @ 112.80 - 9.94 1/4mi @ 135.71
run 2: (license run, but spun bad going after the street cars)
1.59 60' - 6.49 1/8mi @ 112.79 - 10.07 1/4mi @ 135.93
run 3: changed to a shallower start angle on the helix
1.48 60' - 6.30 1/8mi @ 113.34 - 9.87 1/4mi @ 135.95
run 4: (license run)
1.53 60' - 6.25 1/8mi @ 115.16 - 9.78 1/4mi @ 137.55
run 5: changed to a stock yamaha 47* helix; let off at half track
1.44 60' - 6.16 1/8mi @ 114.54 - 10.19 1/4mi @ 103.17
run 6: (license run)
1.46 60' - 6.21 1/8mi @ 114.23 - 9.78 1/4mi @ 135.97
Eliminations round 1: dialed a 10.01 since my license paperwork isn't in yet so my times were off also. Won round 1 by .0094.
Eliminations round 2: A little slow at the light, but a 1.44 60' which I was pleased with considering what they had been. Lost the round running a 9.91.

Terry- glad the srx is back in business. rainouts suck.
I've got a vdo coming, so now I can fine tune the clutching more. I know I'm down at least 1000 rpm at the 1/8th. Big gains to be made there. Lots of suspension adjustment to make too.

Rain rain go away!!!
No asphalt racing this weekend. We're supposed to starts the points next weekend, but not sure if I'll make it or not as I have grass drag sleds to start building. We did have our SDSDRA meeting & banquet for grass drags this weekend. Check out this post if you're in the midwest and looking for somewhere to race!!
