Soutner,
I am new to the forum, and new to yamaha, noticed you were from Seneca Falls! Where do you race on the weekends? Also I know a Stoutner in SF and he rides but I'm not sure if that is your last name or just your screen name. Thanks for the info!

That's funny. How do I know you? I definately am the guy seeing as how there is only one "Stoutner" within a hundred miles of Seneca Falls. I race NYIRP down near Geneseo and ESTA up in Cicero outside of Syracuse.

I probaby will be running this Wednesday Night or this Friday night at NYIRP. www.nyirp.com or www.estadrags.com

You should come to the races sometime...it is a blast.

I thought it was you but I didn't know you had gotten into racing, it's Kevin from the country club, although its been a few years and I dont think either of has joined there in a while. I live in your back yard just about still! I ditched the crossfire after 3300 miles and a lot of problems and snow checked a FX Nytro RTX this year and went from the arcticchat forums to here!! I will defintely come out, maybe even this Wed, thanks for the links and hopefully we can hook up for some riding this year if you are still riding on snow!

Kevin,

I definately still ride snow. Maybe I talk talk you into putting a little Nitrous kit on your sled. Save your pennies, we'll order up a little 50 - 60 hp nitrous kit and see what that new sled will do. I'm going to wait for '09 model year and will probably buy an FX Nytro. I will certainly be running Nitrous though :)

I dont know if I am ready for that in the wallet department! Problem is up on the hill there is no place to really use it, lot of money to use something for about 2 seconds a season. I am interested to talk to you and see all the other little tricks you use for racing that doesn't involve my life savings. Being new to 4 stroke I am sure there are a bunch of little tweaks I can do that are similar to the stuff you can do to a 2 stroke. Sorry to Hijack the racing thread!!!!!! :4STroke:

Well guys, I haven’t had time to post a lot lately, too busy and I noticed the site is getting busy again!!!!! Anyway, I was out again on the weekend and don’t really have anything to brag about, as it hasn’t been a great year (sitting in 10th place). The guys with trans-brakes and two steps are running away with the points this year. I may have to step up to Pro-ET next year as the competition doesn’t seem as bad. So as far as for Super Summit Series, that doesn’t look great either although I tried.

I did set a new record on Sunday along with the help of a tail wind. I managed to clock a 9.58 at 135.5mph. so that was great and I’m still ahead of my buddy with the 1050cc Predator Arctic Cat which I believe has the best time of 9.69 at 132 or so. We did go heads up in a time trial on Monday but I left mine on low boost as that’s what I wanted to run that day and he did beat me with a 9.80 or so to a 10.04 (had a bad start spinning). But later on I manage a 9.75 on low boost. He was gloating with the fact that he did beat me, I’ll just have to run him again with the boost on high and show him. Later on in the day I managed a 1.42 60’ over a usual 1.46 or so. Now I just have to do that consistently. His 60’s are nuts at 1.32 to 1.35. Anyway, tow more weekends, and I’m debating to run in the ProET class with the SRX if I can get out there at all.

Well it's been a long season and we had a great season ender at the Torco -Amsnow shootout this weekend. We started out on friday with some test and tune an on the 5th run I spun the drivers right on the axle and I thought I was done for the weekend. Thankfully I called micro-belmont at 4:50 and talked to Gary who saved my weekend by staying late on a friday to get me up and running again.
Well to make a long story short I finally got the right combination on Sunday after a brutal start running 10.07 at 133 by the third run finally got my personal best at 9.61 at 136, the next run I broke out but won the round and ran a 9.55 at 137.7 and in the next round I broke out again running a 9.47 at 138.38 it was the best loss I had all season with a 1.40 60'
I would like to thank all the people that helped me all year (Legend) Chris ledger (Ledger performance) Stevie (apex er07) Paul, Jonathon (87gtnos) for being my pit crew and good buddies for volunteering there time .Also it was nice meeting alot of new guys from this sight this year.
All in all I am more than pleased with my first time on a Yamaha and am very impressed with the 4 stroke power! I can't wait for snow now.

Ernie

Very impressive Ernie!! Once again proving the top quality and BIG POWER the HOLTZMAN nitrous kit produces!! Talk about CONSISTANT too!
Can't wait for snow!! Your tuning and clutching has got you moving out, very QUICKLY!!! Right on!

Nice to meet you and the guys at martin this weekend Ernie. We also had a good weekend running Fastsleds turbo. We topped a couple of our numbers during eliminations a 1.304 60' a 5.280 1/8 and a 8.414 1/4. we got knocked out buy a 33 in the semi but had a great time all in all. 1 more race to go before the ice.

Way to go guys you got that sled working great after the problems you had.
Both you and I owe Gary big time for saving our weekends, it's nice to know there are still some guy's willing to go out of ther way to help.

Great job guys!!!!!!!!

My best so far is a 9.696 @ 133.7mph

After talking to Ernie (Stone88) the other day, I wish I had gone up to Martin. It sounds like everyone had a blast. Next time I'm going to make more of an effort.

I just read the Amsnow article and saw that Adam Schmidt won the brackets both days. He is from my area and he is on fire. He was co-winner of the Pro-Sled shootout at Esta, he won the bracket bash at NYIRP, and now won both bracket days at Martin. That is just un-real. He might be the only guy on the planet that actually made money racing this year....wow.

Ernie, great job...care to PM me your clutching set up?

Wayne

Well guys that’s it for the season, ended up in a disappointing 13th place overall for our local track compared to 5th last year and 7th place in the IHRA Summit Super Series for out track. Overall it was a pretty good time, but may scale it back next year due to the expense. Did make some gains in ET’s and speeds, ran the new/old SRX a few times. Here are the results.

SRX Best ¼ mile ET 10.2129 at 123.94mph.

RX1 Turbo Best ¼ mile ET 9.5899 @ 135.54mph.
RX1 Turbo Best ¼ mile speed 137.13mph.

We (fastsleds rx1 turbo) are done for the season, and were able to get some decent results.
Our best 60' 1.304
Our best 1/8 et 5.280
Our best 1/4 et 8.41
Our best 1/4 mph 157.8
This was our first season on the asphalt and have yet to make a full pass with full boost and not on the rev limiter. We have some work to do for next year, plus get the bigger turbo on. These results were made with a GT28RS not a 30 or bigger. Hope to see everyone on the track next year, it has certainly been a blast, BRING ON THE ICE! Mark
