Although this is from Arcticinsider.com, it talks specifically about the Yamaha 998cc turbo. Enjoy!

Just think if rumors are true the Yamaha was a little faster on top end than the Thundercat out west!

I doubt Team will let last years issues plague them for the 2017 Cats. Friends of mine made wholesale changes to their 9000 t's to get them happy. Time will tell if the new automatic belt deflection adjust will work as promised.

The team clutches have been disappointing so far as far as I can tell. BUT just wait they will get them tuned.. It ALWAYS seems like it takes a bit for Cat clutching.. That is what pisses me off the most about cat.. If You know how to clutch and know cat clutching your fine but man they are not good stock at all. That is why I will try a sidewinder.. I love the cat ride but they have been suspect at best on clutching for the last few years.. Hell they haven't been able to clutch a 800 since its been in the same chassis since 2012???

Now that was a great article right there,i guess this justifies the top speed of 122 and 123 I have heard about first hand, the nice thing was they eluded to the fact the motor seems to have lots more,so that tells us it may well indeed hit 130 when geared for it,and the 124 gear ratio that is in it stock seems to use every bit of that gear, and its good on belts to boot. What was great to see was the 9-10 sled lead the new thundercat had over the stock procross turbo it was running.

LOL yea. I sent the link to my buddy that is a die hard AC guy who has a 1100 zuke and his reply was a bit heated. Saying he has no Turbo lag and he heard you can't boost the new motor (the short non bleeped version). It's always nice to get that real big smile when you get to razz your friendsYa,and it did not go over to big on the HCS site for the zuke 1100 guys, all crapping on this new 998 still,oh well,we will wait and see.
