A front mount turbo with a well tuned header and down pipe will have way better throttle response over a rear mount system. I'm going that way from a rear mount to front mount, will report back on what I find on rearmount MCX vs frontmount PL/NFS2.

i've raced an alpine turbo apex with a LOT more done to it than my sled and barely pulled him out of the hole then he walked all over me. i think he was running 14lbs of boost though, and i'm only running 10.
This A20 track sucks for holeshotting.

NFS, this part I don't agree with....but maybe you are correct in the sense that the turbo would be 'quicker' to hit full boost.
On a car, your statement would hold true. On a car, at 3000rpm, you hit WOT, the turbo will go FULL boost, the S/C will be about 1/2 boost, because the rpm is still 3000rpm.
On our sleds, I would think that at 6000rpm, you whack it full, our CVT clutches would allow MAX rpm instantly, and both the turbo and S/C should see their FULL boost almost immediately at 10500rpms. The CVT is not holding the rpm down at 6000rpm.
What are your thoughts on that? I know you've had both.

I would not recommend running it on 87 no matter what, but if you have to... stay out of boost, can be hard with a blower, easier with a turbo.
Make sure your boost gauge reads the boost the engine sees - not what's in the intercooler
With my set up, (MPI SC 05 RX1 @12psi) I can limp home on 87 octane, however I'm limited to 40-50mph or less (very light throttle)
Whatever you choose, Hang on tight!

Right on millstreet - Always measure boost at the intake tracts right in front of the cylinder head to get the correct pressure the engine sees Would be about the same with a turbo sled.

What is the difference in MPG between the turbo and charger in your opinion N f S 2?Need for Speed 2 said:I have had both apex stage 2 blower and several turbo kits. My preference is the turbo, as for response the turbo knowledge out there is vast and the old response thing is mute issue in my opinion, out of the hole you only have so much traction avalable, head to head a good set-up turbo will move with the super not spinning the track as much and from there say good bye turbo is going very quick in the midrange due to one of the better things it has max boost in the middle where the charger is linear. Gas mileage is no contest turbo wins, Way it out for your type riding but for me my turbos will do everything and more than a super. Clarify this is my opinion based upon my knowledge of owning both.
