The auto tensioner had issues with wearing out the puck every couple thousand miles. Most guys who had those sleds changed over to the manual tensioner with a roller.

I think the wear block saves the upper bushing from failing as quickly because it gives some. The steel roller won’t compress so you need to run it looser on the chain. This could explain why the cats don’t fail upper bushings as much as the Yamaha’s.

Thats what i meant. BRP doesnt run a roller and neither did the cat/zukProcross didn’t have a roller, it was a wear block. It also had an automatic tensioner.

Maybe. By cats you mean the zukcats not the yamycatsI think the wear block saves the upper bushing from failing as quickly because it gives some. Start running extra oil in the chain case ,Problems will be less likely .Not enough oil gets up top at high speed .

Deal! Going to have two to do. I pulled the trigger on a 20 LTX SE. Girlfriend gets the 17 back to stock boost. We needed another sled as the boy started riding.John pull it out and I’ll weld it for you, no sense in taking a chance. I can pick it up when we go walleye fishing this spring.
The auto adjuster 4 st wore top bushing too and more. What you guys thinking!

If you fill too much it will seep a little out breather. Just about to top of site glass is where I go(About 14 ounces). It does not leak out breather. Much above site glass it will leak slightlyStart running extra oil in the chain case ,Problems will be less likely .Not enough oil gets up top at high speed .

X2. Been using it for many years. Black slime!Klotz blk formula graphite chain lube works wonders .
The auto wore the puck, bushing, chain, gears, shaft and the actuators failed much more often. Issues now are minor in comparison. The auto tensioner had issues with wearing out the puck every couple thousand miles. Most guys who had those sleds changed over to the manual tensioner with a roller.

Cheapest two beers ever, takes about 30 seconds per adjuster.
