Did Ski-Doo just match Yamaha in the 4 stroke department?

I love the wrap on your sled you should be working for big Y because I just got a woody wow that looks great.

Thank you. I didn't like the way that Yamaha shared the same look of the SRX with the Venom and the Mountain Max sleds this year. I can understand why they did it though.

As Yamaha's flagship model I thought that the SRX needed its own more aggressive look and that's what I got.

I don't have a Winder, but want one. What I think people are missing in all these conversations is that Ski Doo has made their flagship a 4 stroke. They have also stopped with the "4 strokes are so heavy" talk. This is good for all of us as it starts to eat away at that stigma, making the Yamaha 4 strokes more mainstream. It also will spur on development from Polaris, Cat/Yamaha to stay current.

That is so true..they have made the leap of ......if you cant beat them join them. No longer can the Doo people join the I would never ride a heavy 4 stroke you know they are not even fun. Heard that from several uninformed.

I think what the Yamaha crowd has failed to understand is Skidoo has been making lighter 4 strokes for a while now. They Have completely run off from the competition for at least the last 10 years, maybe even more than that. I don't think any of the other manufacturers can even see the Skidoo taillights. Until Yamaha lightens up their game, they'll continue to suffer in sales, especially considering they are playing second fiddle to Cat.

I think you will find that several of the ‘YAMAHA CROWD” you describe not only know and understand that SKIDOO has made 4 strokes for a long time.....we have owned them, liked them yet not as much as the Sidewinders.

The point is that DOO is now advertising the 4 stroke as its FLAGSHIP top sled.

Jolly Olypopper are you part of the Yamaha crowd or are you a Ski Doo troll. I surely haven't seen any Ski Doo tail lights lately but have been watching there headlights disappear on a regular basis.

Sidewinders are an extremely low portion of sled sales, almost non-existent.

Not a skidoo troll, ex Yamaha owner due to lack of relevance in the market by Yamaha. They made the changes and got in bed with Cat and that caused me a significant financial burden on top of loss of reliability. Come riding with me in the middle of Alaska and you'll find out why Doo is tops in the market.

Olypopper you and I ride in very different worlds and I believe in Alaska Doo may be the choice.

As you can tell by my name I like DOO and Yamaha. Just realize their are significant #s of sleds designed and sold for fast smooth non mountains trails and lakes. I believe they are NOT the choice for riding in Alaska but are a significant market in the lower 48 states

Jolly olly it really doesn't matter to me where you live or what you ride. But bragging up Ski Doo on a Yamaha site does not sit well with some of us. If you no longer own a Yamaha all you are doing is trolling.
