Ever seen the damage caused by Nouis's superwieght's, with the swinging Donkey dork, exploding a few years ago?

that was the first version...and I still have a set that are running strong..
problem is ...he put it in too many incapable hands too early..

they upshift so strong...on machines with overdrive helixes, cut clutches and extra length belts...spit the belt and cam in contact with the aluminum "dork"...

now the 2 speeds are complete billet steel....it's a shame there was that little stumble...but it's a shame that some of you dont see how they rock now...

all inventors and inventions go through some growing pains...
ask one of my aquaintances Verlin Simmons...it took him many years of failures and ridicule to become successful...now his skis are recognized as one of the top ski's on the market

umm, anyone with a primary that is cut for overdrive that is capable of putting the belt higher than the top of the sheave is a nutcase...

not cut to put the belt higher than the top...but to the top....along with this upshift..
bottom line...a high powered rifle is dangerous in the wrong hands...in the right hands it's a tool.

hey...I can think of all kinds of product that never deliver what they promise...or have growing pains..if I had a dollar for every time I heard a sledder complain he wasted money on a clutch kit that never performed at all, yet alone had a problem...i could retire!

Like sj said ALL of the weights are billet now, the ones that grenaded were a powdered metal like a casting. When Randy was still in MI I did alot of prototypes and some testing for him. Whether you run the 2 speed, originals, or the new drag n fly weights they put the power to the track!

Thank you for posting a set-up that you feel works. I think it is great you are willing to share info you spent time testing to figure out.

Thank you for such a great site

run the white spring..
3.2 grams in the heel..
5.2 grams in the center
0 in the tip..
3.2 in the overdrive..

comes in at 3800..

stock secondary on a non attak machine

QUESTION:
What base weight do you recommend, SJ? I see 50, 60, or 70 grams for sale.....

they come 60 and 70..
the 60 is what that setup is for...
the 70 would be more for a turbo sled I suppose..

I just got a call from another ty'er that bought an airlid from me...he had the dragnflys on the slower set up and was totally impressed...now that the tweaking is there...he'll be blown away..

from what I'm gathering of these weights...great down low and mid...but with lot's of top end too..

I'm still getting it dialed...as I did some of my early tuning with a advantedge roller...going back to a stock secondary for more tuning

I Machined the Primary on my 2000 SRX for overdrive, never had a problem of any kind. I geared down one tooth on top and went faster with the O.D.

definately not recommended...that little bit of unused porion is a safety factor built in...sure I've run the belt to the top...IMHO it gets unsafe with these weights...
