Flash Update Coming Fall-2016

My guess! As far as I can tell this reflash has not been released to the states. Seems logical that all dealers in the states would get at the same time or a memo stating who gets what when. It is fact that other countries have the flash. Any dealer that "states" they have the flash IMHO is getting it from a outside source. "some other dealer possibly in another country" to get a head start on the flash. I got the opinion my dealer was going to be swamped with this reflash and he wanted to get a jump also but wasn't able to due to no "official" Yamaha release. Just my "GUESS". I love conspiracies so this is just a x files type of guess. Just seems weird most American dealers know very little about such a big deal (flash).

You somewhat correct. It hasnt been officially released to the US but it is available through Yamaha not a outside source. Dealers call if they want to do them now or not.

Yamaha Rep for my dealer was questioned yesterday and insists this time it is a Yamaha flash. Same rep also said the RR type skid is no longer produced with a 17 6000R XC right in front of him!

Sadly its true. Its really not the reps fault since in recent past what Yamaha said was as good as gold. Takes alot to lose that and it may not even be Yamahas fault. They probably expect Cat to do the honorable thing in all cases but they are just running all over Yamahas honor,quality and customers whether they want to believe it or not. Like I said its time for Yamaha to take the head off the Cat and take over.

My dealer in south western Ontario Canada just informed me to bring my sled down for the new flash. Hopefully take it there in a couple weeks. I will go pro my starting and idling before and after just for kicks.

Nope. If they update the YDST tool it is available. Just like SRXSPEC said.

I asked one dealership to do that and his response was he just updated it a month ago. Truly no clue...I'm headed where I store my sleds tomorrow and was hoping to get it done. One dealer 10min away no clue, next is 50 min and no clue then 2hours away no clue.

Then ask them to contact thier rep. Or just wait.

Just left Mcgregor Sportline in Bobcaygeon Ontario and he told me to bring my 14 viper rtx in for the new update map for hard start, kick back and idle probs as soon as possible. He just received it yesterday and was doing two vipers as we talked this afternoon.

Ok, so not trying to open a can of worms here but I wanted some answers. I called Yamaha corporate. It took a few different people to start getting some answers. Again, this is what I was just told as of minutes ago. Per Yamaha corporate no re-flash should be available to a dealership because they are still working on it... I kid you not. This is what I was just told. He did confirm it is coming but hasn't been released. So I ask him will this be a recall. His response was no it will be a tech bulletin not a recall because for it to be a recall it would have to be a problem that could cause harm to the individual. Reason for my call is because when I have been calling dealerships here in Iowa no one has a clue what I'm talking about. So those that claim they got a reflash are you sure it's a new one?

I was at my dealer yesterday. K&W in SE Mich. They are aware of the new cal but Yamaha told them no cal yet. Still being finalized. Should be out soon and for me to call back in a week.
