Flash Update Coming Fall-2016

I just got back from dealers they have the new flash and a ton of new sidewinders !! Wow !! I wish I had a little extra fun money right now.

Didn't you have EVO powersports reflash your ecu a while back?
If so, how will this new flash affect the reflash evo installed?
I have the EVO stage 4 flash and was wondering the same thing

If you make an appointment, it takes 1/2 hour tops. Pulled into Country Cat at 8:02am and was on the road by 8:45am. I know, that doesn't add up. But I had to drool over a couple Thunder Cats before I left! LOL!

I think of the flash as like a GPS map set, with pre-determined courses, guiding the engine through it's various ranges of operation. We can only run one course at a time on our GPS. So only one course, or map, on the ECU. A flash, or re-map, will delete the previous version on the ECU. Similar to when you change the destination on the GPS. The previous destination is deleted.

Do you know you max rpm af wide open? Also listen to your idle right before you go just so its fresh in memory and you can give us a good comparison. Thank You. I am just nervous doing this one. I bet many are.

X2. I'm not doing it without some feedback first. Our 2014 idles smooth, no starter issues and have had only very minimal hot start hiccups.

The only complaint I have with my sled is sometimes it kinda hiccups on start , if I keep the key turned it keeps cranking. Is the considered a "kickback"

If the engine is coming to an abrupt stop and then continues to crank because you are holding the key in the cranking position then yes that's a kickback. Very destructive to your starter and will likely fail. Mine goes in the shop for starter replacement at the end of the month. I'm hoping they have the new flash for me at that time.

Guys, I have 2 ECU's (forgot to mention that) and will be doing this on the spare ECU that I have. I will be keeping the EVO flash Stage 4 ECU separate.

Just the cats so far.

I talked to Bruce on Friday and he told me they should be ready to start doing them....

Does anyone in the US know what years they are reflashing?
Here's the message from my dealer..............

"Product service bulletin BS201706

I would like to take a minute to inform you there is a service update for 2014, 2015, 2016 7000 Model Snowmobiles that need to be performed under warranty. There have been improvements to reduce starter kickback on the affected models. If you have any questions on service update, give me a call and we can discuss it. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please call to schedule an appointment to have your machine serviced as soon as possible. If you have already had your machine updated or have sold this machine, please contact us with that information so we can update our records. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter."

Looks like all of them.

The first reports from Sweden tells about some cold start issues with the new flash. But when the engine is warm it starts up at once.

Not yet.

Little more info. The US dealers and maybe other countries have recieved a update to the YDT tool. It is cloud Based now and should be more reliable. Nobody has said it but maybe this will cure the variances experienced after last flash. There is no longer downloading involved so as I understand it the Laptop was the middleman now the middleman is eliminated and the flash and any other info goes right to your sled from Yamaha. This makes me feel much better and I bet it is much more successsful. The computer guys here will hopefully agree since I know very little other than the old system didnt work. I will get the flash as soon as its available now. Tech who just got back from class said flash is coming to us all. This is good news. Couple things from the Update to the diagnostic tool:
