I called dealer in North East Iowa last week. He made t sound like any day he would have it. Just now called. He checked his system with me on the phone and claims nothing as of yet. One key thing he did say is per instructions is remove O2 sensor and perform the flash.
Yamaha just today released the ECU flash update. The Yamaha service head called my dealer today to notify him and both my horrible starting 2014 Viper and 2015 were updated this afternoon. He said they notably sound better starting and running. My sleds were updated at Rock River in Johnson Creek, WI.

I'm still with my EVO reflash too. Take no chance for the moment! After spending 600 to have Evo reflash mine, i am not going to bother reflashing it again
Yamaha had 2 shots at it. They blew it both times.
Im gonna stick with the evo reflash and just hope for the best.
going forward, if i have any major issues with this sled that warranty will not cover ill just let it fall out of the back of my truck and take the insurance money.Im done with this reflash crap.
There is no bulletin yet here. SRX what does this YSDT Update entail?Yes, it is available in the USA. The dealer will have to update his YSDT and then should be able to see the new program and upload it into the sled.

New software update, not sure really what it all changed, just required the update to install the new flash. I could reflash last week Friday with the new update. Know of at least one other dealer in Pennsylvania that could as well.
Well then there is hope some of the variances of the previous flash are cured. Good news. Is it smart to say in my situation to get the flash when I can? I haven't even drove mine yet to know if I have the starter issue. Would rather be proactive though. Bought a leftover new 2014 a couple of months ago. This whole starter issue was the only main reason I was hesitant in buying a viper. Hopefully this is the cure.

I spoke to Pete who was the Yamaha head service rep at the Milwaukee Snowmobile show about my 2014 LTX which randomly starts like crap and is on its 3rd starter. He said they have worked on the this new update for over a year because Yamaha knows this has been a big problem. They were not confident it was ready for last season and didn't release because of that. He said they are confident this will resolve the problems and that Yamaha knows this starter and reliability is costing them money. I would get the update based on my 2014 and 2015 experience on my sleds.

I spoke to my dealer today. Ken's sports in Kaukauna, WI and was told they have the new flash for the ecu that deals with the starter kick back and to call and bring it in.....
Good news as far as I'm concerned.

just got off the phone with brian in hensall Ontario. said it fixes the kickback 100%. said it fixes all starting issues! he also said a lot of them are getting too much fuel upon startup and actually causing the engine to roll backwards and that's when the gears are breaking. solves cold starting issues as well....he said it fixes all starting issues. didn't mention anything about rpm or idle. my buddy and I will be taking ours there next Tuesday, he said it takes about 10mins to do.

Picked my sled up , unfortunately I didn't pay enough attention on how it idled before I took it down (I wasn't aware they were gonna re flash it when I dropped it off) to compare it to now, But the service manager also told me the re flash is to cure the kickback as CooperT mentioned
