Getting rid of the roll over valve

Well I seen this was on the second page today and after finishing reading all 37 pages this week, I've went as far as grabbing the parts and then changing my mind again. I think Im going to wait on this one before attempting rocker dan's "T" mod. I've got an '18 xtx with 200miles and I've heard a few winders having the issue with the oil tank seal and sludge build up in the intercooler.

I do have 4 years of warranty but downtime is hard to replace, especially when its time to ride. The "T" mod from rockerdan would fit my style especially as the most snow we see around here is about 6' annually and rolling it over or on it's side is not going to happen.

We will see how the 18/19 season goes as stock and check back in on this later.

Very good read!

I'm in. With the 5/8 " line. Only thing I want in my turbo is air. If this motor was N/A like the Apex I wouldn't mind. Might splice in a rollover valve down the road.

Exactly what I did last year. No problems and the air intake is clean. Put 60 km today and it's good

What did you all use to plug the intake side? Sorry if this has been posted already but couldn't find it.

Ok had one freeze this weekend. -30. Why not take out the valve Replace with plastic nipple. We flatlanders don’t roll over. If we do more problems than oil !

Simply clean and tig oil tank to chain case. No need to take apart. No deal to leak. Remove BOV plastic nipple in its place. Done

Mine is working flawless for ultra cold temps, need to cut the end correctly, never froze yet.

Not sure Id want to weld the tank shut for good, lots of stuff in there that I like to make sure isnt clogged and is in tact.

I couple pics I just saw on wastebook:

seems like a regular maintenance of the outlet as shown on right pic above, hose and valve is a must...a heat gun before riding might be a good idea...

for those that think who cares if I roll over and lose some oil...you can easily remove piston and spring from valve and make it straight through (sans roll over protection)

That was my cousin Sled. 17 winder in the picture that number 1 kyster posted. We was in Houghton/Hancock. Mi. Over the weekend. The sled Gage Said -9 when we stared it that morning (Saturday ). Blow the oil tank seal before fully warmed up. We took it apart and that’s what we found. I. Have a 50th rtx winder. My rov. Froze up while riding on the way to Houghton and blow the seal. Not only after spending a lot of money on the sled and trips. This design is uncalled for. This is my first post I usually just read. The 17. Has 1700 miles. Mine. Has 1500 . The other.thing I don’t like other then oil on the intake tract. The the amount of WATER / CONDENSATION that gets into the oil.

I guess I should have also added. Both of these sled where bought new. Always stored in a heated garage trailered in a enclosed trailer any and all maintance done by the book. Etc etc
