Have you guys heard this news about Arctic Cat?

I have been seeing quite abit of new bikes in yamaha line up lately, usually in the past a year or two after that comes a new sled line, i ran into a yamaha engineer that works out of Georgia and asked him if and when a new sled would be out, all i got was a big smile, told him that didn't help lol

So if Yamaha comes out with their own sleds again, which brand will the Yamacat riders go with? Cat or Yamaha?
:dunno:

That is a good question, a lot like the Cat chassis best snowmobile they ever owned ...probably would not want to switch back to a pure Yamaha chassis, but you will find them on the Cat forum, but they will have to paint their Vipers and winders green to fit in.

If Yamaha comes out with a cutting edge chassis that would be the biggest sno-mo news in a LONG time!!!!!
Or, if they finally decide to pull the plug on the sled division! That would also be the biggest sno-mo news in a ""LONG TIME""!!!

Yamaha all the way! As much as my Sidewinder grows on me and I except it's faults, it's still a ""CAT""

If Cat comes out with a new chassis & Yamaha gets the old ProCross, i think it's a win win for Yamaha. At least dollar wise.
First of all, the Pro Cross is an excellent chassis. As good as anything out there with all things being equal. i:e 4-strokes compared to 4-strokes, 2-strokes compared to 2-strokes & mountain sleds compared to mountain sleds.
The tooling is already made & in place in TRF so it wouldn't cost Yamaha anything except to pay Arctic Cat to keep 'em coming. Here's your dollar.

Of course they'd have to fix the small issues or i'll be gone, but the chassis is excellent and can be easily improved upon.

WOW more YAMAHA hope than i have read in a long time. Keep it coming guys

As to the Cat v. Yami buying decision: I will choose based on best YES like warranty , best trail sled, for me now comfort, ok I’ll admit it, is beginning to be more important than race like performance handling.

Don’t get me wrong the sled must PULL HARD and HANDLE but smooth, comfortable and quiet are huge factors.

I rode the LE at Munisings Yamaha factory ride and thought it was the most refined sled - smooth, quiet, FAST- I Had ever ridden, actually exceeded my expectations . My dream sled is what you ride.

I have no problem saying my Sidewinder is the best sled I have ever owned, and I have had about 30

It would depend on what they came out with for me. If it’s affordable to go with the Yamaha I would love to go back to an all Yamaha sled. If it’s a boutique model best of the best and carbon fiber what nots and costs over 20K, I’ll be on the old Viper, but it will never be green.

A New Yamaha would be up there in price for sure for top of the line, new Winders are over 20 grand with taxes in Canada now, but if a new pure Yamaha chassis with high tech turbo engines and some other turbo models are unveiled there will be lots of Vipers and Winders for sale for sure, you could probably pick up a low mile decent shape Viper for a couple hundred bucks, Winders would be abit more for sure.

It seems it's fun to dream and fantasize I guess, but let's be real here.
Yamaha and Cat obviously decided to extend their agreement past five years, basic math says so.
