I used to hate FORD.
Now i love my Ecoboost.
470 ft/lbs @ 25 mpg on highway........can't beat that!
I never hated Cat cuz i've had quite a few & i like to root for the small guys
Your scaring me, Steve, I grew up in a Chevy/GM family - Found On Road Dead View of Ford now have 218,000 on my Ecoboost F 150 and love it. LOL
Oh yea also wrote a paper in junior high school stating I wanted to be a test rider and eventually a design engineer for cat in Tuff Rubber Balls (Thief River Falls for you non Minnesotans) so if I went back to Cat (had El Tigre, Jag, first rode a Panther and Cheetah )it would be a weird ‘going home of sorts’.

lol been hard core gmc/chev since i bought my 2nd truck as the ford i bought 1st broke down 3 times in the 6 weeks i owned it and i did have to walk. got a 2019 f150 with the 5.0l 3 weeks ago and i am liking it so far as it is what i wanted exactly down to the gear ratio. chev wanted me to buy one of their boutique trucks where all you can spec is the trim level and cannot get different ratios for better towing/longevity.
any one know what ford spelled backward means?

back the topic, interesting that the transporter is 800cc class motor for the cat guys and only 600 for the yamaha guys. i still want to see how those work out for guys as i have a soft spot for all the work sleds.

I love my 300 Hemi. Its a hot rod reminiscent of the olden days. Reminds me of my 340 Duster but has the room of my 383 Monaco. Handles better then both and gets twice the mileage. Still nothing like the violence of dropping the clutch on a 340 at full song and clicking 12 second times. The 383 Monaco is the comfy cruiser with the ride that only 120 inch wheelbase and torsion bars can give. I may drive a GMC truck but my heart is pure Mopar. I loved my Cats but my heart is still with Yamaha.

This is one of those threads that's not so intense & serious that we can have some fun.
As long as we bring it back to topic once per page, Tom the Blade will let us play a bit.
What have we learned so far:
1. Cat is NOT leaving yet............good sign
2. SteveO the Clutchmaster can count............and loves dogs
3. Squatch loves Mopar, but drives a GMC cuz Mopar's are fast like Cats, but also break like Cats
4. Maim doesn't have a SHIFT button on his computer
5. MrSled has been re-named Tom the Blade
P.S: The Duster is how you get chicks. The Monaco is how you get WITH chicks.
OH YA, i wonder what Cat will be coming out with next month. Any guesses?

Arctic Cat is quoted in one of the magazines as saying that the 2021 sleds to be revealed in November will be: “one of the most exciting new products lineups we’ve ever released – designed to expand the entire snowmobile market.” Quoting from one of my favorite movies (True Grit): "I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man." It's got to be more than "bold new graphics." Whatever it is, it's probably not co-designed, or Yamaha would be engaging in some hype as well. What do you think?

I used to hate Cat and would talk crap about them every time someone brought them up. I had this hate because my brother owned and early 2000's mountain cat and it was a huge pile of crap and ruined more then a few trips for me. There was a point I was so pissed that I was very close to just burning it on the side of the trail and leaving it. This is where my hatred for cat came from. After about 6 years of watching them I started to see there sleds improve quite a bit. When I was looking to buy a new sled a few years ago I did a ton of research on all the brands and I ended up with a cat. I have to say this has been the best sled I have ever owned. I'm not easy on my sleds and this thing has out preformed everything I have put it through. Except for some bent running boards(totally my fault) I have nothing to complain about. My hatred for cat is gone. So now on to Yamaha! With this super early release it has me thinking about the 2021 Yamaha sleds. Whats everything thoughts? If Cat releases a new chassis which is likely do you think Yamaha will also use it? Or will they still have the procross for another year? Will Yamaha get the monorail(I doubt it but you never know)? Will Yamaha release their 2021 lineup when cat releases their new models(that are supposedly coming)? I feel like Yamaha almost has to release their 2021 models when cat does because otherwise whats the point in waiting until spring unless they have something new aside from cat. I guess we will know more in the next month.

I think its a disgrace that Yamaha snowmobile owners have to see what Cat is offering then hope Yamaha paints it blue, one would think all the new engineer's that Yamaha hired a few years ago could come up and design their own new chassis for the true blues that have supported and praised their engines and sleds over the years before Yamicat which was alway's a cut above the rest, its time Yamaha made their move or at least let their faith full know their future snowmobile direction, if Cat sleds is their future direction why waste the money painting them blue, today's new Yamaha sled owners are really not sure who they belong to or can have bragging rights, but when something goes wrong with their so called new Yamaha sled then their head seems to clear and they no exactly who to blame then, seen it first hand over and over on this very site.

I can’t imagine Yamaha releasing at the same time as cat unless they have been able to keep the best secret and they have developed a new chassis and are going to blow us all away. I personally don’t think that is happening. Plus I would have to imagine the two have some type of agreements on this stuff. In reality Yamaha provides cat with one motor now as far as I know. Where every chassis, plastics and anything else besides the motor on a Yamaha is cat. Seems to me that cat definitely has more control. And even the two stroke is basically 100% cat. I love my viper all around besides skis but that issue was rectified. I feel like at this point that Yamaha will potentially become an engine supplier of four strokes to cat and there snowmobile division will be eliminated. Or textron will give up on sleds and Yamaha will take over the snowmobile side of that. Ultimately I believe it comes down to the almighty dollar and who is willing to stay in the game and try and compete with Polaris and doo. I’m probably rambling but at some point this relationship has to end. It’s similar to Ford and mercury, or gm with Pontiac Oldsmobile ect. They all were the same with different badges.
