I did see a photo of this style sled in I think in American Snowmobiler or SnowTech a bit ago, I think it was a 600 race sled for Cat sitting next to Cats trailer at the track, I know the Mags commented on the new race body style.

Definitely looks like a mountain type. I think the track lugs are to short for pure mountain? or is it lower powered/small?View attachment 149992looks like a new mountain sled

Yep.. new Alpha, new body style, looks to be some other models in CooperT video, NOW... the question is where does this leave Yamaha? is this where Yamaha steps away from the Cat agreement and takes the wraps of their new line up...….

Well.... if by chance Yamaha uses this new body style my thoughts are its over for Yamaha, they will lose what's left of there identity and dignity in the sled world to Cat, I believe that you are a hater, you hate the thought that their are true blue's on this site and ride pure Yamaha sleds you call them delta junk, but the truth of the matter is the delta box and the engine it housed made Yamaha a legend in the snowmobile world and have been talked about on this site long before the Cat and Yamaha agreement and the pro cross, only the sidewinder engine and the Viper engine in the pro cross in my mind is worth talking about, you have no identity you ride a cat but you say you are a Yamaha man but lurk on the Cat site to see what they are offering in hopes they paint it blue so you will feel right when riding it, I am a true blue and ride a pure Yamaha!!!Maybe YAMAHA keeps stepping in the same direction that they been going and shared the development with Cat, were does that leave you haters now ???

Holy Smokes that would be a bad deal. I've heard of kicking your ball sack off, but that takes the cake.

Pretty sure Yamaha was a legend in the snowmobile biz well before the Delta box. Probably as far back as the GP643 triple, if that sled didn’t do it the 1977 SRX 440 liquid did.
I owned a 1985 Vmax 540 ....fastest sled of its time. Then there were the Vmax quad 750 & 800’s that ruled the wasteland. In 2000 the SRX 700 took sled of the year in several mags and even the 800’s were scared. Then the Viper with handling that rivals sleds to this day on smoother trails.
I miss those days when Yamaha had new offerings ever couple of years and a wide selection of models.
The agreement between Cat and Yamaha has been love/hate but it still has given me an awsome sled! If it was a perfect sled I would have nothing to do all summer and would have to move to the North Pole so I could ride 365 days a year. Might get eaten by polar bears, and my house would probably sink into the ocean due to global warming. So it ain’t all bad.

I agree, long before the delta box, I remember looking at the 440 SRX with the factory twin pipes and widened front end back in the day it was fast, bought a 340 enticer in 78 my first Yamaha, still puts a smile on my face when I think about it.Pretty sure Yamaha was a legend in the snowmobile biz well before the Delta box.
