I do it because I race it in the spring/summer/fall. If I didn't race it and just wanted a trail sled....I would have kept mine stock.
But on the other hand, I also like to help out with testing these new products and really addicted to the higher power now

Rule # 1, It,s in for warranty work, not upgrades.I saw that video...that's the "jealous" part! My wife would kick me straight in the ba$$s if I spent money on upgrades, on a sled I have 0 miles on
Upgrading these things is like sex, the more power you get, the more you want. LOL
Rule # 2 Don,t ever ride a buddies sled that has more power.

Going to ride mine break it in black stock for a day or 2.
Then a bad #*$&@ clutch kit from Thunder Products, 911 cover and the Carbon Fiber Belt.
Alpha Silicon hose kit.
Best tuning out there by EVO Powersports and the Maptuner with all the stages.
Stud Boy studs 144, 1.5"
Dupont sliders.
And more to come.

MrC! Man I feel old now! Many of us Viper guys were happy for about 500mi and then the speed issues came up. Maybe it was unrealistic to expect a Viper to hit 100mph on trail but MANY of us were left desperatly looking for more power. Honestly I really hate the motor in the Viper. Never been as frustrated with a snowmobile as the Viper speed wise. You guys are lucky. Remember the old saying "Hold it tight till you see God or Crash" Well you guys are going to see God pretty darn quick. Us Viper guys can hold it tight all day long and just get bored. Not kidding. Just please be safe!I have no desire whatsoever to mod this sled.
It really is great that Yamaha built us a sled that reacts so well to inexpensive performance mods. Equally, it is great that Yamaha built us the fastest sled out of the box. Period.
It isn't that I'm old (I'm not), it isn't that I don't have a competitive streak (I certainly do) don't have the brains to do it (I put $3,500 in go fast goodies on my Nytro). I just happen to think that 205hp is more than enough for me.
When we ride, we ride hard. We have off the cuff races all the time. I simply don't care if I win it or not. It's fairly obvious no stock sled is going to beat it (in most cases anyway), so being beat by a modded sled is apples and oranges.
I am not dissing folks who build the sled up, as I said, it's great Yami gave us such a great platform to start from. Just remember there ARE guys who are more than satisfied with the output of this thing, and are more than happy to beat it like a government mule (wow.. maby I am I am old).
No disrespect intended Mr C, but the way I ride my stock 205hp sled won't be different from the way someone rides their 276hp sled.... in a non-sight seeing manner.
Very impressed with all you guys are doing with this. Keep up the good work!

Ok, it's like stated. Cruise around stock and see how it goes. If it don't go good. Throw down the c.c. and make things happen.....
