What’s wrong with the grease that comes with the kit ?
There is some pressure but if people start using their own brand of grease and get carried away it could be difficult

The Hurricane noise reduction shaft I installed, before they came out with their current collar, virtually eliminated all the clutch noise with the stock SW primary but I have been using an Apex primary for a few years now and it is a bit noisier although nothing like stock.
Depending on reviews I may order a Knockout ring as well and try it in the Hurricane shaft...if it fits.

I wouldnt overthink the grease too much. Regardless of how good you think your grease is it will not last forever. You wont know what intervals it need’s disassembly till their some miles on these kits but it is not a one and done kit, cant be. It may be once a season, every oil change or more often. Really who cares though, it takes minutes to pull apart and repack and you have a sled that doesnt sound like a 7.3 powerstroke for a small investment and a little grease. Use the grease that comes with the kit and when you run out source something else or call Dave at tapp and get more.

I found the PI sheet for Valvoline Crimson grease. Sadly, Its limited temperature range of effectiveness would not meet the temperature conditions of my intended use. 25° - 250°I wouldnt overthink the grease too much. So ill have to fall back on Lucas Red & Tacky or like product for general maintenance.
Justin, while I appreciate the desire to stick with what ever Tapp recommends, I like to use what's been working and have the ability to use on other general maintenance. The "one tube works on everything" approach.

OMG! Take a wild guess on who forgot the torque down their primary? It basically felt like there was 20 foot pounds on it.

TD recommendations:
1st 110 ft/lbs
2nd 60 ft/lbs
Yamaha Specs:
1st 108 ft/lbs
2nd 43 ft/lbs
Apex Primary bolt Torque:
Yamaha specs:
1st 85 ft/lbs
2nd 43 ft/lbs
So begs the question...when using an Apex clutch on a SW which torque specs should you use?
I personally stayed with the SW clutch torque specs with Apex clutch on my SW but I had a 300++ hp Apex that I ran Apex clutch torque specs on without any issues.
