Manitoba Ride

Steve I hear ya. 195 are done here. Jan14th is the last day for most. Some stay to train others. Bad year for so many people I almost feel guilty for booking trips. To many glum faces in a small town when the major employer makes a cut.

Hope te job works out for ya. Would love to see you again this winter. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

I do! LOL. It looks like I will be doing a bagger trip in Minnesota during the planned Manitoba TY Ride this season. Otherwise I would have stepped up and organised it.

There is a planned trip? Sounded more like a desperate attempt to get one more ride in this winter to me. Tell me more about the planned one!

Meet in International Falls on Tuesday evening at the Holiday Inn. Ride for four days coming back to the Holiday Saturday evening. About 200 miles each day, but staying in a different city. One day might be about 250 miles as I am still playing with the route.

Don don't know what i can do from here but maybe Brian can PM us a list of things he would do!

I was going to phone the Glen Howard tommorow and see what is going on there. Room availibility and such. Waiting for my brother to get back to me on exactly what days he is off.

With so little comitment it looks like a small crowd.

I was kind of tounge in cheek poking fun at my attempt to get some people to ride in an unofficial TY ride. You did say planned Manitoba TY ride. I'm not sure about the planned part.

Your ride sounds good! Got a Bagger trip coming up five days of riding and close to 1200 miles. Three days in Ontario and Two in Manitoba. Leave from here and return. The two days in Manitoba I hope to get some insite as to what the trails are like for my ride in manitoba later on.

Maybe I can get one going here for some of you guys. Going to find out how well our clubs that nearly folded are doing. Maybe make it a Onatoba TY ride 5 day bagger 1200 miler. Yes Matt you would get to run the pipeline hills again.

Right, sorry I was a bit slow on that one.

Bver Fever rode the Whiteshell over the weekend and said the trails were in excellent shape. His only problem was cold hands. ;)!

OK guys, a Manitoban Lee River Lac Dubonnet guy here. Trail conditions are as ususal, Perfect, There is over 700KMs of table top riding to be done. The trip does not have to be offical, but just show up at the Glen Howward in and lets ride and ride and ride. I have already logged 2000 miles since Dec 31. We will be out at the cottage for the time you guys have planned. I will even loan some one a SRX 700 or a Vmax 700 if they show up. Last resort is my 440 XC Special Snow cross, but it is like riding a fire hydrant. Call me if we can get some rides in. We just got rid of our -40c weather and now the temps are -10c. I have ridden the Witheshell, Nopiming, Seddons, Rennie, Elma, Whitemouth, Sandilands, Pine Falls, Pinnawa, LDB and all is groomed.

2900 people got laid off last week 350 out of my building :o| I was forced to go back to full time or be let go so needless to say I'm back on the full time payroll. Worst part is I have only got about 2 weeks of vacation left after being forced to take two weeks off over the holidays, so no MB trip for me this year sorry guys, I'm taking a few days off for the MN ride but other than that it will be a while before I have any acrued vacation time again.

Sorry to hear Convert; some tough times out there right now.

For any of you guys that are riding with a Garmin GPS - go to the Manitoba section of Hardcore Sledder and check out some of the stuff member 'RWS'has done with mapping our trail system. Some serious effort involved, and the files are available for download.

I know how you feel, we were force to take holidays for 2 weeks at xmas, now I basically have none until our new year begins the 1st of April. Guess I should be grateful that I'm still working right now.

Booked for Feb 24 to the 1rst of March. Hope to bring my brother and a riding bud from here.

If we wind up with a small group that will be fine. I'd like to do the sandilands trail on the 25th but that trail is a long ride. So depends on who shows up and what they want to ride.

I know Bever would be up for that one. I loved the ride, would like to run it on my Warrior.

Make plans in the evening for tommorows ride I guess and take it from there. A run to Nopoming and back, a run to Falcon and back, a run to the park north of grand beach and back. Options, options.

If we are going to do a cookout on Sat we will have to figure out how many and pick up some bread and fixins.

I'm trying to place you 03griz. I remember the name but can't place the face.
