guys, didnt know how long it was going to be for the new tanks and options for extra fuel hauling so, decided to try out my own idea. relativley cost effective too.

you'll need a skidoo jerry can p/n 861-794-000 (80.00 list from doo, comes with all mounts and strap), yamaha exhaust turn out pn sma-8gl14-00-00 33.95 from yamaha, and 03-05 mountain cat tunnel pad p/n 2606-134 (20.00 from arctic cat, thanks darko). and 5 yamaha rivets p/n 90267-47195 (best rivets in the world) approx .50 each.

i removed the tail lamp harness cover, installed the self adhesive pad on the tunnel top, placed can on pad, fit the exhaust turn out to avoid fire hazzards (have to remove the heat/trim cover at the rear of the sled). riveted the turn out in place, riveted the short strap brackets to the tunnel, strapped the can in place. it appears rock solid, no movement, looks like a factory add on accy. no fabbing, everything available over the counter for about 135.00.

only draw back is you lose the option for a rack or a bag for storage back there. i carry a back pack so i dont use the rear bags. here's some pics what do you think? ski

Looks great. Does anyone know if the exhaust turnout will fit an Attak? So this mod could be done on Attaks for either gas or luggage.

With a CR tunnel and an MCX turbo we will be re-routing the exhaust back into the tunnel, so a gas rack can be put right behind the seat, or you can get a tank bag and carry 2 1 gallon jugs of spare fuel...............02 :4STroke:

Dude, just turn that exhaust straight up and put a clapper on the top like a big rig!!!! :bling

guys on snowest are saying the nytro exhaust turn outs are not available at this time from yamaha due to a fire hazzard issue. i was short one for my sled as i didnt think i needed one till i opted to install this fuel carrying option.

i called kevin at port yamaha and he did verify they are temporarily unavailable and he was out of stock so, i let my fingers do the walking and found another dealer with one still on the shelf. ordered her up.

i have no idea why they would say there is a fire hazard with these turnouts unless it has something to do with the angle and the predrilled holes in the turnout combined with the use of saddle bags or something.

i only used one of the holes and turned the pipe slightly upward to get the exhaust away from the fuel can. it is so far away from touching anything, i cant see a fire issue at all for the turn out alone. not sure what is going on with the availability.

just a heads up for those of you thinking about doing this. ski

I asked my dealer to check and he said they are on back order but could not find anything about a fire hazard.

If you want a turn out you cna get tehm from craiggerbuilt.com I don't know if that is a yammy one or if they make there own. The indication I got from Craiggr was that they did testing with and wthout a turn out on there bags and the bags began to melt without the turn out.

Here are some pics of my can. The can can be removed with the quick release handle and a bag put in it's place.

I plan to remove the tail light and turn the can the other way. I will then move the can to the left side and add one of the Craigger wedge bags on the right. This should give me the ability to run two bags or a bag and a gas can.

I had my taillight off again tonight. Trying to find a better place to relocate it. Can't seenm to find the spot yet. I'm going to look into a different LED. I would like to mount it somehow off the back of the seat up off the deck. Just need to be sure that the fuel can won't block off the veiw of the lamp. Thanks for posting the pix's, I have a Doo can but been wanting to see the QRS in action and there it is.

idea on the rear tail lamp, get a thin led lamp, remove the rear reflector on the tunnel cap and install it there. out of the way and visable. ski

That's what I plan to do using this light http://www.slp.cc/catalog.cfm?pageID=de ... ductID=531

Me too!

I started the project tonight. I will post pics once complete. I am using the Craigger Built system from from old sled like spray25....awesome design.

Unlike spray, I'm removing the tail light and mounting an LED on the rear were there reflector was located.
