Needs to start great every time we turn the key. Please update us during your day on starts warm and cold. Thanks.

Fired instantly in morning here in Muni. 2 tries warm but no backfire or anything. Only hit 95gps but real loose deep snow. Got clutching at 8850. I am happy. I think they gave us higher timing she sure is snappy just like when I go from 87oct map to the 93map. Time to ride!

Just got back last night after spending the week in the UP. We had 3 Vipers in the group with the new flash and 1 (14) still on the original flash. Temps ranged from 5* to 35*. The new flashed vipers always started on the first try no matter the ambient temp, idled smooth and ran perfect for 1200 miles+. I spent a little time on my sons 16 viper (about 35 miles) and it seemed to run really good. The unflashed viper was the normal 2 crank starts in the morning with idle searching as normal. For our group the new (19) flash seems to be working well.

Here is my report from today’s ride. I stop counting after 15 warm starts today. It started right up every time today and idle really nice and steady . Also I didn’t notice the rich smelling of the exhaust that I smelled last 2 years . On the first tank of fuel I averaged 12.8 miles per gallon. That was with me riding it hard. The top speed for me was 96 mph. Will see with me riding moderately tomorrow how much better I can get for fuel mileage. The only modification to the sled has been Bill’s center spring, and I installed the newer design starter solenoid. So from today’s ride I’m very happy with this update. And thank you Yamaha for getting this done for us. Have 300 miles on this update still happy with the new flash. Riding semi aggressive got 15.5 miles per gallon.

We do not have the latest flash, but this morning up in Kearney On, it was -23 (weather network said it felt like -33) and the sleds sat outside with no covers on them and they both fired up on the first try! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I thought forsure they weren’t going to start. Loaned my jumper cables to a guy with an apex because his wouldn’t start, same with an rx1.

You know that kind of cold that freezes your nostrils and eyelids? That kind of cold.

is that better MPG than you usually got ?

My fuel mileage is same before the flash. When I ride hard and fast I.E. throttle to the bar. I get between 10 to 12 mpg. Accelerate slowly and cruise around 50mph 14.5 to 16 mpg

Gonna give the new flash a good test this weekend in hurley. My 16 has always had a idle hunt and a few backfires along with 2-3 tries on starts at times but has always started. supposed to be somewhat cold this weekend in hurley

I must be close to 500mi this weekend on new flash and not a single complaint. I do think I used more fuel sat but was a lot of loose snow so could be reason. Was -5 f Sunday morn and fired right up after sitting outside all night. No prime just turn key and crank away. Happy!

Same here...starts cold, warm and hot...throughout the day on a 100 mile run I tried to start it every which way and it fired up every time...I also seem to be using more fuel but could be a tight track...also seems to have more snap but could be the D&D muffler I put on...idle is also fixed no more surging...I’m happy!

Just got back from my 3 day trip to ME. 450 miles and this morning it was -11F it started right up. So happy that I don’t have worry about starting it on cold mornings
Yeah. I used mine all last weekend and it per formed flawlessly. They came up with this fix in the nick of time because I was all ready to dump mine and move on. I believe it's a keeper now.
