Nytro Powered Mini Jet Boat Build

Here ya go first vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w52WJ0lHnQc&feature=youtu.be

Still only pulling 6000 rpms i would like to see it up around 8000. I would like some input from some engine performance gurus. Im thinking this stock R1 exhaust is way too restrictive. Mabye i need KN intake different exhaust and a Fuel programmer?

Also getting Code 42 warning because the speedometer is diconnected. Anyway around that?

With two guys in the boat we were pulling 42mph on the gps so lots to be gained there if we get the rpms where they should be.

All in all though is handles well and fells very safe and stable.

On my yamaha jet boat the only thing I could get to control rpms was different impellars. I'm thinking with everything you mentioned it may be worth 500-800 rpm but not 2000. I could be wrong but I'm thinking you'll need to lower the impeller size.

OMG that thing is awesome. Its cool you made it that far, I mean there is a lot going on there and everything works as it should that is pretty dang cool! Thanks for sharing the vid!

hmmmm not sure how you could pull more rpm out of the engine, since you don't have clutches to tinker with, the load of the jet will be hard to over come. Maybe an intake and exhaust will get you 2-400 rpm more but I think the only way to gain as much as you want is with boost....?

Ive tried an aggresive solas impeller and the stock with being able to turn the stock a few 100 more. This pump is off a GP1200 that had 135hp with a max rpm of 7400. I Would think the torque and 135hp of the nytro motor would turn it into at least the 7000's.

That sounds sbout right. With the boat being heavier than the ski looks like ill have to drop. 12/18 like you said or do you think as fas as 11/14?

That is just awesome! I love the sound. Looks like a lot of fun.

Just wondering, do you have any foam installed in the boat anywhere in case it gets full of water?

Yes i do along the sides, nose and under the seats and rails. Now if it is enough to float when it is full is another question.
