Did you find the tipped rail feature of the OFT ext noticeable?
I know you went to 136 from 121 so it wasn't an apples/apples comparison but I am curious how the tipped rail feature affected handling?
I have always felt tipped rails are a good idea regardless of length to get a rocker effect when the sled is transferring both on accelaration and off throttling.
Does ICE AGE offer tipped rails as an option?
I am new to my Nytro coming off 30 yrs of Polaris and am just starting my trip down the Nytro rabbit hole with a new 2013 FX. Gonna run the oem Rip2 studded this season but will be looking to 128 or 136 next yr.
Want to assess if it'll be 128 relocated or 136 tipped rail ext either relocated or not??
I unfortunately don't get much off trail or loose snow riding locally but do get away for a couple trips where this can happen. For this reason I won't be going any longer than 128~136.
I like transfer and a lively sled so the oem approach angle doesn't bother me unless slide wear and really poor top end rear their head.
I can't see why I won't want tipped rails regardless of what length and approach I use tho??
Very Kewl sled BTW RevsterYer a kindred spirit with yer attn to detail, OCD and overall gearhead mindset and the writeup was a lot of fun to absorb

I can sympathize with a sled collecting dust. Was close to selling my old Viper one season. Only put over 200 miles pulling the kids or giving them rides in the open field accross the road. Was the worst snow/trail conditions I had seen in years. To add to it both my boys were in minor hockey which meant I was on the ice with them 4 times a week and atleast 2 games every weekend. This left little time to ride on the snow/trails that we did have.
Wife convinced not to sell it as it was paid for and did not cost much to keep it around. Boy, was she wrong! The next year the boys dropped out of minor hockey and went into Rec. hockey which meant on the ice for 2 hours every Sat am and it snowed like crazy and the trails were amazing. Ended up spending over $2k on modding the Viper and doing atleast 2k miles every season since.
I would not go back i time and do anything differnet even if I could . Time spent teaching my kids the game of hockey or seeing their smiling faces after sleds rides with them are absolutely priceless memories for all of us.
