Too soon to dethrone the current SRX - the rest of the industry has yet to catch up. If they do, a turbo or supercharged apex motor would reset everyone else back a peg. Yamaha can lock up a leadership role in the engine game for the next 10 years with bolt on chargers. They just need to get back in the chassis game.

Agreed 100%.
Only thing I may add is, even IF Yamaha has a great chassis, the powderpuff team to weak to lift their own zipper will cry like a b!tch about weight.
And unfortunately, I don't think a turbo 3 cyl or N/A 4 cyl could ever get down to a low enough weight to appease the masses that think a snowmobile should weigh no more than 450 lbs
Another problem is, even 17 years later, there's still many riders out there that have never even ridden a Yamaha 4s just to try it. They have the attitude that 4s sleds are heavy & slow.

I took a friend out last year that hasn't ridden in 5 years or so .
He brought out his '09 DOO P-Tek.
When it BLEW UP, he got to ride my '07 Apex. He's NEVER ridden a Yamaha in his life. He was told it was heavy & rode like a tank.
He's buying a Yamaha........................................................................nuff said

Yamaha used to do factory rides bring the entire line up to a snowy place let all comers ride sled of choice. That’s how I bought my 2007 Attak GT. I’ve been waiting for them to get back to what worked in the past but seems like no budget for that any longer.

They still do it, but only at big events
SnoDeo at Rangeley is the only place i've seen it lately

I like my Yamahas always will very high quality sleds no complaints from me but worried about the future of snow products. Yamaha comes out with something new and I’ll be the first to test ride. I like my 900t Enduro as well so have some comparos to do this winter. Good buddy just sold his cherry 2011 Apex xtx yesterday but still has his 2012 Apex xtx with Elkas all around. Doesn’t matter to me what brand or model someone rides but I will never ever buy a 2s just not for me.Hey Whitedust1 I figured you be over on Doo talk bragging up that new 900T but I see your still over here stirring the Yamaha pot.

Reality is Yamaha has been lying down. With no new model for 2020 i really have no choice but to start tinkering with another brand. I managed to fall into a deal for a 19 900T with 20k miles on it. Will be interesting to see what I can find to perfect on it. For me its purely business as everyone knows I have blue blood!
20000 mi on a 19? Holy Cow would like to hear what you find Travis! Is that right?
