Running out of ideas, need help with hard start!!

Yes it does seem to crank slow. 270 rpms when its outside and cold.. but it has a brand new battery in it. what is everyone elses cranking at? I got it back from the dealer after they put injectors in it. It starts really good now. I hope it stays like that, but id like to see the sucker crank a little faster.

Will check for you tomorrow.Last night it got down to 13deg so should be a good test for winter.

it was 0 out and my sled cranked at 270 rpms.. 340 when it was on the charger. didnt start tho..... ugh. could be bad gas since the gas is a year old or so... im gunna try and put new gas in it. ill update when i do

3 primes,8 revolutions,270rpm for 6 then 340rpm and it fired and idled perfectly.Hasnt been started for 2-3weeks.

I did not have mine started for 2 month since 3 weeks ago. I went to start it and it took around 8 rev's. I am not sure about @ revs it jumped. When I put it in storage I left without sabile this year. I fuel just to start around 20 or so times over the summer. Then when I started it this time did not have much. One it started I poured some fuel in there.

ok thanks guys! looks like its the normal cranking speed. started it again tonight n took it for a ride, everything worked perfect!

Was their something different with the later years? I fogged my phazer in april and started it up in october and it just turned over 4 or 5 or maby 6 at the max times. Stored with a full tank of 91 gas and yamaha fuel stabilizer, and I let it run for 10 mins. Charged the battery once a month put it in turned the key and started right up.

I've had troubles first time of the year every year but this one (cold start kit this year?) I know it's bad fuel that gives a lot of guys fits. Remember it's trying to compensate for bad gas, which i'm thinking messes with your timeing and stuff.?

Later years all had a update to make them start faster.I didnt feel I needed it since it has always started and have only replaced battery once.

my 09 has never had a problem starting, was just wondering.

I still have my stock battery in it. (Same with my quads, and one is an 05) I use a battery tender jr on them almost all the time. I should know when it's time, right? It shouldn't just quit like a cordless drill i hope!?
Whats a decent relacment for it? $?

Thats good Spike.I wish I could use a Tender on mine also would definitly save batteries.Yes I have had batts just go at blink of eye.I think its from being bounced around. Most just get weaker over time.I would replace with stock Yuasa or a Deka stock replacement.Other fancy ones are hit and miss and I dont think they last as long as originals.
