Not sure, bought the sled used and the seller havent used it for a long while but when he used it everything was fine. after summer the problem began.
Might be as you say with the oil drain.
Do you have a pricture or a description how it should be/ or not be, so i can see tomorrow when i get to the sled?

and i guess oil getting into the turbo is not a good thing...
I'm used to two-strokes

Turbo needs oil but excess needs to either be drained back to motor by gravity or a pump otherwise it can bypass the seals and burn in the turbo possibly ruining it.It could oil foul the plugs also leading to hard starting. You would see the oil smoke when you started it though.

Thank you so much! i will look how that black oil return hose is, maby something has happend to it...
Does not smoke much, a little bit when its cold, that's it.

I have uppdated my profile. Due to much work (and that the snow has melted) i have not been able to have a look at my sled yet.
Can anyone share some info on those "faulty gas-pressure-regulators"?
I wil take some pictures and video when i get to the sled once again

Acquire a fuel pressure guage. They are cheap and useful.T in and check it.Regulators are very reliable normally. They might vary from one sled to another but are very consistent while running.Probably the variable regulators being sold are taking advantage of the inconsistency from one unit to another. It really doesnt matter though since final tune can usually make up for any higher or lower than optimum psi. Then again I have no idea if Yamaha tunes each sled at factory or at least takes a base afr.
The danger in buying a adjustable regulator is obvious. Most I have seen are also cheap Chinese versions.A good adjustable regulator costs over a $100.I would not trust anything less to be consistent.

Being a Turbo you probably have a vacuum regulated regulator so when turbo kicks in more fuel is supplied by raising psi. That is old school and lame way to do it .It should be done with the tune instead and only reason to up injector psi is because injectors dont flow enough.A powercommander will show your duty cycle of injector or you could have them flowtested and figure it out from there.

I think it's vacume regulated, because i think the one i was recomended had vacuum regulation.
However, even if its old-school, i guess it works ok thoug its "lame"?
Looks like there is quite a few phazer mcx turbos out there.
If thing where les taxed it would be easyer to buy a sled like a nytro or some, but since a new nytro cost like 27000USD(and holds it price good) a phazer turbo is a good alternative since one "only" cost like 12000usd used. new stoc is about 16500USD. So there is no problem for me to buy a new 100$ regulator if that's what i need to make my sled run good for many years

If it works.Fine.But I am betting that under no boost it is not same PSI as stock regulator which will cause hard starts. You wont know until you check fuel pressure. If thats the case its not working fine.I have used these with no issues.

Ok i might need some help again. Heres what happened when i brought it in to the dealer. He said the idle was set way too high, it wouldnt drop from 3000 even when warm. I warmed it up for like 5 minutes and set idle to 1700. so how would it change if i just put the airbox back on and took it in? I then after some work, got them to put that coldstart kit on, he said yam would pay for parts, i pay for labor. i said ya thats fine cuz thats gotta be the problem, right? no he said today that it didnt make a difference.. He said they were looking into injectors. seeing if they would leak down overnight. i said i took injectors out of throttle bodies and watched as i cranked, and they sprayed fuel.. he said they had one other phazer that did have injector problems (changed his story from when i asked if hes seen any problems..) so now i dont know what to do, its an 07 with 3100 miles on it, is there any way yamaha would help out warranty wise? idk if im going to get it outta the dealer for under $1000... what do you guys think..

They said injectors leaked down, they talked to yamaha and thats what they thought it was. So they are going to replace injectors. Is there any way i would be able to get yamaha to cover some of this, even though its not under warranty? I have no idea how many hours they have into troubleshooting this thing, thats what scares me.

No hrs I bet.Leaking injectors would flood the motor not cause a high idle.I bet there is a vacuum hose off on airbox or those sensors behind it that is causing high idle.If injectors are dripping just run some Seafoam through a tank and see what happens. Also keep an eye on your oil level if they drip bad enough they can raise level and contaminate your oil which is real bad.
I think the engine is turning over too slow. If you watch your video as soon as the RPM reaches around 500 it fires. These engine on cold start NEED RPM to fire. try boosting it and see if it fires up right away after cycling the fuel pump 3 times....if you can get the RPM close to 500 it will start. best of luck

Yes good catch. Two users and definitly chev had slow crank. Its good to do a cranking voltage test on batt also.It shouldn't drop below 12 volts even while cranking on a fully charged good battery.
