That's a long start. Mine's literally 1/4 that with the update, even in -20C.

I agree especially with it primed like you did.Even without update mines fires instantly when primed. Was motor warm or started that day?If so dont prime it.If it doesnt get better after a tank of gas through motor I would start investigating for sure.I cant tell for sure if it is cranking fast or not.If not and battery is charged/connections clean its possible that your starter is not clocked correctly from loose starter bolts. Before they fail totally the starter will turn over slower than normal, turn backwards or just not work.

Mine took that long during an average winter start, but it wouldn't even hint at starting, like yours does, it'd just start. Yours sounds like mine in the fall when it has old gas in it, because it senses that bad fuel/low octane and retards the timing(i think?) You said you put in fresh gas though.

i'd run some new gas & injector cleaner. that helped out me. i did the plugs but no help.
also when i cranked it & wouldn't fire, i got mad. so i just tapped the throttle a little bit & it caught right away. so i do this if my sled just keeping cranking & if i don't see the rpms moving.
i know you shouldn't have to do this, but it works for me.

One thing I forgot to mention - when mine is warm, I have to hold the throttle open slightly for it to start. If I don't it starts worse than when it is cold.

I believe our coolant controlled Idle Air Control valve is adjustable. That would take care of having to hold throttle open.

Is there anything you don't know about Phazers?

Hi! I'm new to this forum, and new to Yamaha 4-stroke sleds, so i hope its ok if i bring this post to the top and ask if you have fixed the problem with hard starting?
I just got an 06-07 phazer turbo that is hard to start, new plugs and new gas.
Might it be this IAC valve that is causing this problem? i see lots of "cleaning and fixing" videos for this on cars on youtube.
I have also been told by MCX that the gas-regulator is faulty on these sleds, can it cause my(our) sleds to be hard to start(mine also stops from time to time)...
Hope for some info
All the info you can come with on these valve would be great

I also can share that mcx told me that its possible to test the pressure regulator with connecting a gas-pressure tester trough a T-pipe and messure. It's supposed to be between 3-3.2 bar.
I'm so new that i'm not sure witch hose is comming from the pump yet, the one in the front or the one under the seat ?

Most IACV's are activated by a stepper motor ours is controlled by a thermostat.Should be way more reliable than a electric one but they all can get carbon or dirt on them.I would imagine being a thermostat they also vary a bit from machine to machine.Just take the airbox off and try shooting a little carb cleaner into the hole above the throttle plate with it running and cold.
A compression check would also be interesting.Anyone know what cranking compression is?Would show condition of decomp.

Pressure would be one under seat.

Maby i should test the fuelpressure befor i take of the intercooler and start looking into a system you guys say is good
Do you have any other ideas why it stops sometimes(beside being hard to start after not beeing run for a while). I can start it, with some cranking when it stops... usually when i stop to put it into revers...

Maybe you have oil getting into the turbo. Is oil draining right?
