rxrider's Turbo Garage - pics back, will continue

UPDATE October 23. - My MCXpress RX-1 Turbo kit is up for sale.

My MCX turbo kit laid out on the garage floor.

Turbo Mitsubishi TD04H-16T, air filter, oil hoses, exhaust caps drilled out to take the turbo exhast outlet, cover plate to go underneat the turbo.

2008_10230004.jpg

Charge tube, precooler, install guide, more oil lines, exhaust heat shield cut to fit the turbo exhaust outlet.

2008_10230005.jpg

Turbo kit comes with a Autometer Phantom 2 1/16" boost meter reading 30hg vacuum to 30 lbs boost, it ain't pretty but it's working perfectly and accureate (have been tested vs another meter and they measured the same boost). It also comes with a Hallman Pro RX manual boost controller, box contains install guide and both soft and hard springs, hard spring installed, adjusts boost past 20+ lbs. These parts were not part of the original MCX press turbo kit.

2008_10230007.jpg

Kit comes with divider plate to shield off air filter from the turbo to prevent steam entering the air filter. Not part of the original turbo kit.

2008_10230008.jpg

Intercooler, screws, bolts, nuts, oil pump, fuel return adapter, T's for pressurization of the float bowls (comes with the MCX reinforcement inlets already installed), T for pressure signal lifting the slides, Y for feeding fuel from the gas tank to the MCX fuel hose entering the fuel pump. Termo sock to thread over the oil lines exiting the turbo.

2008_10230010.jpg

Precooler. A few scratches from studs hitting, wear and tear where it went thru the frame. I would recommend drilling out a larger hole and add some rubber around the charge tube to prevent wear on the tube.

2008_10230012.jpg

Fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are still in my sled, have not got around to remove them.

2008_10230016.jpg

Same goes for the silicon hoses between IC and carb rack.

2008_10230017.jpg

Charge tube hose. Will come with a aluminum pipe to connect the two hoses, goes in where my Vortech and T flange is installed in this pic.

2008_10230018.jpg

Almost a complete turbo kit lying on the garage floor.

2008_10230020.jpg

Forgot to take pics of the Y-pipe and Turbo mounting bracket.
Here's a pic of the exhaust Y-pipe.

2008_10240002.jpg

It has the weld on bunge for the WBO2 sensor installed, it comes with the cap installed.

2008_10240003.jpg

The turbo kit boxed up and ready to ship, almost... Will have to get hold of a larger box to carry the charge tube and Y-pipe :)

The kit does not contain (parts are installed in my sled):
- head gaskets, came with 3 gaskets from MCX for 9.4:1 CR
- carb rings to be epoxy glued to the carb inlets
- magneto cover gasket
- a few hose clamps
- a bunch of zip ties
- a few thin rubber hoses

I'm asking kr 17000,- NOK - $2400USD - $3000CAD, for the parts alone.

For local buyers: Bring your sled to rxrider's Turbo Garage for the install, kit price installed in your sled ready to ride - kr 20000,- NOK.

Buyer pays for shipping, insurance and the parts mentioned above not delivered with the kit.

Rxrider could you do me a huge favour - stop posting this pics -LOL

What is the OD i mm on:

1. Intercooler inlet
2. Outlet on turbo comp. side and precooler
3. Inlet/airfilter

The outer diameter on IC inlet, Turbo charge tube inlet/outlet and Precooler inlet/outlet is at 50.1 millimer or 2.00".

Air filter intlet is bigger, have to measure. Will do today. Air filter OD is 60.0 millimeter or 2.36"

Talked to my friend last nigth about the parts you need. You will get the parts you need, either from me or him, maybe a IC short but we'll figure it out.

Thanks for both - parts and meassurement

I needed the meassurments, because I have started to look for some "plumming" parts for the project :jump:

Hahaha no I won't stop teasing you TT - I have now updated the post, it contained mostly pics last night, text added today.

Talk to you later buddy.

Yeeeehaaaaaaaa - just got off the phone with UPS Norway, the Powder Lites turbo parts have finally arrived, gotta pick up the package ASAP hahahahahah LOL :die LaLaLa :pics: #$%&* :o| :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: ;)! :jump: :flag: :tg: :-o ;):D :-o

:drink: :drink: :drink: :yam: LET THE WRENCHING BEGIN

About time - you had to learn the hard way about using UPS - LOL Been there done that - never again -expensive and no service!

My guess is that someone is skipping dinner today - I just have a feeling. Get that baby done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TT - right on about the dinner thing, I'm hungry but I don't care right now, going out to start unpacking any minute :)

Next time I'll ask for shipping by USPS or CandaPost if USPS is not available.

UPS!
- did not tell me that I had to call them to arrange payment for the tax and duties at import so the package was forgotten i one of their warehouses for a week, even tho my phone # was easily seen on the package
- did not tell me that the package got a new package tracking # when forwared after leving the customs, I called them today asking them where my package where as there where no movement after the customs was cleared, now the lady told me the new #

I don't like this at all, my package arrived 1 week later than it should have, bummer, I won't use them again. USPS have always been on time except the 4 days extra it takes from package arrives in Norway, clears customs, and finally arrives at my local post office.

Well TT you told me so once before ..... you are right again ... UPS #$%&* #$%&* :o|

Yes it is, comes in handy when installing the piping underneat the tunnel hahahaha :) LOL

It's there to cover up the Vortech, to avoid any misunderstandings that the Vortech comes with the kit :)

UPDATE October 24. - Unpacking Powder Lites RX-1 Turbo parts.

Powder Lites turbo parts arrived today, it was like christmas eve happening too early this year.

2008_10240007.jpg

Turbo parts ready to be unpacked.

2008_10240013.jpg

I also got the aluminum frame parts from the welder, cut to spec and ready for install.

2008_10240017.jpg

Parts unpacked, let the install begin.

2008_10240019.jpg

Some turbo, the Garrett GT2860RS-739548-5.

2008_10240020.jpg

Compared to the Mitsubishi TD04H-16T to the right.

2008_10240024.jpg

Preparing for the mockup install of the turbo. My friend Thomas aka Sneip1fmx, he has been a part of my project from the start 3 years ago. He's a former yamaha mechanic, he's still one IMO. He knows them Yamaha's; bikes, dirt bikes, 2strokes, 4strokes, sleds and the likes, very knowledgeable guy who knows his ways around an engine :) Thanks Thomas for all your support over the years. I finally came around and fixed the annoying wireing connectors up at the handle bars, didn't I???? :)

See ya soon buddy.

2008_10240027.jpg

Turbo in place. I can finally measure where to cut the hole in the frame for the down pipe.

2008_10240030.jpg

2008_10240031.jpg

Looks kinda cool, somewhat larger than the little Mitsu :)

2008_10240032.jpg

Installed a new hose as the old had a cut in it, won't risk any leaking pressure lines for the throttle slides.

2008_10240034.jpg

Installing the oil line to the turbo and the oil filter adapter plate. The oil feed line from Powder Lites fit the MCX oil filter adapter so I didn't care to change out the MCX oil filter adapter with the one from PL.

2008_10240035.jpg

2008_10240036.jpg

I have started measuring where to cut a hole in the frame for the down pipe. Will continue tomorrow - MAN this is great fun :)

Good to see that you got you parts. Looks like there was early christmas in Lakselv yesterday. That looks good :-o

I have said it before; make sure that there is a restrictor in that oil feed line!

Where do you plan to go with the oil drain/return line - valve cover or tapped into the gear reduction cover?

There is no restrictor with the oil feed kit as far as I can tell. There was no oil return parts with it either, maybe that's a kit in its own that has to be bought separately? I'll have to get a oil return kit, will install it wherever it's intended to go.

Going out to cut hole in my bulkhead for the exhaust downpipe.. see ya buddy
