Those of you running a CAI will notice that one of the added benefits is it allows additional air to enter the underhood area, especially if you mount the CAI as high as possible, hence leaving a gap underneath it for more air to enter. Wouldn't it be more prudent to utilize this additional air and direct it where it is needed most ............on those hot clutches??

Well, if you own a 2017 Sidewinder the factory guard over the exhaust header probably cracked and was replaced on a recall. Pic 1

I took the old guard, cut it in half and used the small end to make an air deflector to route most of the air entering the left intake ram directly to the clutches. Now, rather than have the air enter the cab and dance around, it gets directed to the primary where it is needed most.

Thoughts??

I was thinking along different lines by making a shroud around the back of the K&N filter so it would only grab cold air coming in through the vent and not warm air from the engine compartment. Once i accomplish this I'll add more vents on the clutch side panel.

I like it.....looks pretty good too!

For me, I just dont need it....my winder has the coolest running clutches ive ever owned. Running doos for several yrs and my 12 cat i got used to clutches and belts so hot you could not touch them. Doos never blew a belt either. Im not sure why mine just dont ever seem to be too hot, just typical heat on them which seems normal and as I said much cooler then previous sleds.

I do like these type of mods though....Good work!

Looks good very creative I like that. Any additional cooling would be beneficial not just for the clutch and belt but dropping temps all around
