Very interesting. They must have raised the rev limiter with the latest flash. I've heard other people mention they felt some gain in performance. I'm still on the fence whether to get the flash as I've had no issues whatsoever in starting very cold or hot. I do like to hear the performance gains. Decisions.....

No idea what RPM to clutch for. I have a message in to Allen, haven't heard from him as of yet.

I'm very disappointed in the starting to be honest. Mine started great on the last flash but my idle was so inconsistent. That idle issue and wanting to make sure I would have no issues having a starter replaced under YES warranty is why I had it done. Mixed feelings now.Very interesting. I definitely noticed performance gain. Midrange mostly and it seems to keep pulling up top. Although mine started first try in the mornings before (now 2) it starts more consistent while warm as before it was it and miss. I'm glad I did it.

Had mine flashed on Friday. Put 100 miles on Saturday. It took two trys to start when cold, 1-3 warm. My cold start idle is slightly better, once warmed up it runs excellent. I'd say performance has increased substantially to be honest. I'm banging the rev limiter again for the first time since putting in a Ulmer clutch kit. It's very strong in the bottom and midrange where traction is available but a turd up top because I'm turning too many RPM. Wondering if my limiter was raised??? Seeing over 9300rpm , seems to me I thought the limiter was around 9200?? Sled has a D&D trail can, Ulmer clutch kit and airbox is stock. My speedo is dead on verified with GPS.
It's good to see other people recognizing the added power. Thought I was loosing it. I noted the added power and banging the rev limiter back in December on the top of page 7 in this discussion. After 500-600 miles I am sure that both sleds are making more power. I'll get them back in for the speedo correction some say but just pleased as punch with improving starting and more power!

I just had mine done and it works fine cold start needed one try one time and 2 another and hot was faster then before idles slightly better i think and a little higher as far as i could tell sped was good ill try more the weekend with gps. Good point on the rev limit I noticed hitting the limiter a few times on Saturday but today in the powder spinning i did not i'm tempted to pull some weight out of the clutch just so I can hit it and see what it is on max recall.

Good news - the safety switch fix appears to have solved the problem with my sled dying, and it does not appear to be related in any way to the new flash. I put in about 300 miles this weekend over three different days, and the sled was flawless!Thank you, I think you made a good call! I took my Viper into the dealer, and just got it back. They said that there was something inside the throttle that was sticking, and would have the same effect as the kill switch. I am assuming they were referring to the safety switch you described. They said that there was some "hard grease" which was preventing it from working properly. I have not had a chance to ride it yet, but I should find out this weekend whether it fixed the problem.

Hard to say. I bought it this year and only drove it twice before I had the flash done. It does seem to have more power now that I have done the air box mod. Maybe a combination of both. I know I hit the rev limiter quite often now compared to before.

He's wrong, there is an updated flash to fix the speedo problem. I would suggest another dealer if it's close by...

Will it/should it come up on the computer that my sled needs it?
