Noticed during my post season inspection that my sled needed a little extra TLC. Already knew that the w-arm was coming out for powder coating as I didnt have time to get that done during the riding season.
Time to make a To Do list
1. Repair crack in the rail.
2.Check front end bushings.
3.Order Bulk Head Saver kit.
4.Remake tunnel protectors as existing ones are chewing up the track
5.Repair or replace rad. Broken lower mount tab
6. Find some new gadgets

To address the rail issue I made a plate and sent it with a friend to have his buddy weld it into place. I also thot it might be a good idea to have all the other plates welded to the rail insted of bolted.
Well that was a big mistake. Buddy's welding process warped the rails.

Ordered up a crate of parts from Travis including the Bulkhead Saver kit since I was already working on the front end.
Crazy simple to do and a large peace of mind knowing that I won't be breaking off the tiny little tabs now.
Also installed a 12mm stab bar from Pioneer Performance and will be putting in a Big Boy spring as well.

Made up some new pieces for the tunnel protectors to save my rear heat exchanger from the pics as well as my track from the old tunnel protectors.
Again had "buddy "weld them up so don't rag on me for the weld job. #$%&*

Crate of parts showed up. Thanks Travis.
Next is to pull the rad and install the used rad without broken tabs.

Sending out a box of parts for powder coating. Bountyhunter will be taking care of this job for me.
Can hardly wait to get these parts back from him.

In my crate of parts I found some GYTR shocks. Sending those out for rebuild and revalve along with the rear shock.

Next on the list to do is the exhaust. Picked up a used Excell system from a TY member.
Did a little modding of the pipe so I would have more clearence between the brace and the tunnel and also further away from the pics/studs.
Will also be adding a block off plate in the rear as the exhaust won't be hanging below the tunnel anymore.
I hope this will help control the possible ice build up issue.

Worked on the Excel Exhaust kit the other day as well as a block off plate.
Took some time to get the right height in the back as I changed the angle on the pipe. Ended up using both rubbers from the factory mount to get the proper fit.
Block off plate was easy do to with some thin guage aluminum and a couple of rivets.

Found a broken tab on the rad. Ordered a new/used one and installed it with some rubber pieces between it and the frame to help isolate it and hopefully not breaking again.
A buddy had his fall off during a ride and ended up getting a hole in it from banging on the reverse linkage.

Bought myself a Garmin Montana 600 GPS for Christmas. Also bouhgt the AMPS Rugged Mount for it as well.
Picked up some flat 2" aluminum from HD to fab up a bracket for the AMPS mount.
After a few "what to do" moments I came up with this riser type mount.

Good thing it did cause you would have just ended up pulling the skid and buying new rails cause they will crack somewhere else AFTER you put it all back together and put a few miles on it. BTDT :o| and they were done by a fabricating shop. Sled is looking good though :yam:
