Looking for recommendations on a stock clutch kit I'm not going to get a tune for another year. Ltx le is the sled. Another question is can you run a cai and exhaust without a tune? I know it will run lean is there any other option other than a tune?

I would just run it stock,no need for a clutch kit, that you may need to change things once you do a tune,if it gets to 8700 plus and holds it,thats the best you could ask for. Now a clutch kit may get you there a tad quicker, but you also may lose a tad on top, your call.

Certain exhausts you can run with stock tunes. CAI will need a Powercomander or a tune as it will lean out a bit so I was told.

The reports I have heard is number one the new SRX is clutching is better and you can get for $50 for existing SW owners through your dealerships.
2nd there are better setups out there for a stocker, outfits like Thunder Products, FPP, Ulmer, Turbo Dynamics all have improved stocker kits. I am sure I missed some...Which one is better?? Not sure...
Seems almost everyone is flashed. I do know VX1R’s (Don’s) is stock with an Ulmer kit and it runs real strong, I have driven it...

IMO, Why spend money on a clutch kit that may only add a couple of sled lengths when you could put it towards an ecotrail tune that will add way more speed than any clutch kit. In addition, with a tune, you can then take care of your exhaust and CAI concerns. Ben has a video on youtube where he states that stock components can be used with ecotrail.Looking for recommendations on a stock clutch kit I'm not going to get a tune for another year. I agree with this 100%. I would also caution running any of the aftermarket mufflers w/o a tune. I know there are a couple that claim you can, and maybe you can. But if the muffler flows more air and makes more power, it needs more fuel to be safe. Like 74Nitro suggested, put the money toward EcoTrail - you'll be WAY happier (safer) and faster that way.IMO, Why spend money on a clutch kit that may only add a couple of sled lengths when you could put it towards an ecotrail tune that will add way more speed than any clutch kit. Wouldn't we need a clutch kit for ecotrail?
My machine is stock. IMO it leaves a lot to be desired down low. I can't afford to upgrade everything at once. I'd love a clutch kit for more umph down low, that I can utilize at a later date once I have a tune. Ie add more weight.

All you need is adjustable weights with a stock muffler tune. I’ve been thinking about getting a power trail tune with stock muffler just to avoid any attention in the trails
If you upgrade power to anything worth while you will be dealing with clutch inefficiencies.
You really have to consider on where you are heading with your project and build upon it, instead of changing everything out along the way. Pick up some good adjustable weights that you can use no matter how much power you add.
I think this sled is pretty damn good out of the box, but you will be addressing the cat design flaws sooner or later. This sled can become a money pit real fast if you want to make all the changes that may or may not haunt you down the road. That said, I think the ride and power are well worth the effort.

I will always run the stock muffler. So any tune I get will be a SM tune.
Any recommendations for a good set of adjustable weights that have a profile that improves low end pull?

Turbo dynamics sells their kits with dalton adjustable weights. What they recommend is good enough for me. Power trail tune and weights is around $650. That is I believe 250+ hp

I have never tried the setup personally(ecotrail with stock clutching). However, I think it would work, with the tune taking the RPM's up to high 8's. If Ben says ecotrail can be run with stock clutching then I would take his word for it.Wouldn't we need a clutch kit for ecotrail?

Actually, I will be able to give you some feedback on this if we ever get some snow here. My buddy just bought a 17, and I put the TD ecotrail map in it. He bought the updated 19 clutching and we opted to leave the heavy rivets in the weights given the added power. Just need snow!I have never tried the setup personally(ecotrail with stock clutching). I can attest that Don's (VX1R) stock SW does have more grunt on the low end with the Ulmer clutch kit. I did order the '19 clutch parts from our family dealer today. That is a good deal IMHO.
I am researching the trail tunes as we speak though.

Me too. Leaning towards Powertrail.
