I am surprised there isn't more talk of this new ski yet. Who is running them?? lets hear about them, good, bad or indifferent.
I've been holding off posting any reviews of the new Stryke ski due to the fact that I've only been able to put on very limited miles so far this season. I'll be putting on what will probably be the last of the miles of my season next week in the UP and will give my opinion after that.
I'm a little disappointed that Yamaha has been very late in delivering the accessory shim kit this season for the Stryke ski so I haven't been able to try out what difference the shims will make.

6000km on 2 2021 srxs now. I tried the stock carbides found they had a bit to much push for my liking and a slight dart. Woodys slim Jim's no darting but still to much push in corners. Snow trackers were good, Nice light steering but when loose and they had an unperdicable push that I found dangerous. I now have on quaili piece 8 inch offsets and was able to lower the front end and turn up the front skid shock. Still have a small dart in certain conditions but nothing crazy. It definitely has more steering effort but goes where you point it. Until recently haven't had the handling that I wanted with the ski always had to much push in loose conditions. The shim kit for the stryke finally came in and I have used it for the last 2000km. Yamaha should have sent the ski out with the shim kit, no idea why they wouldn't. This helped big time in the loose snow conditions. The max shim 7.5 works very well in super loose snow conditions no push goes where ever you point the skis. The 5 shim is what I leave in most conditions. With the shim kit the stock carbides may have been enough for most guys. If you don't have a shim yet and would like some more ski pressure I recommend trying it. The way it is set up now I see no need for c&a or curves. With power steering coming out next year it will be nice to run an 8 inch carbides with the shims and not have any push and light steering effort.

Great review. Unfortunately I also have limited miles for an opinion but am happy so far. I read about the shim kit before buying and asked the dealer about it when I picked it up. They were not aware of a shim kit. Was this something that was supposed to come with it or do I need to buy it separate?

Why is the rear hole not utilized by the carbide? Seems it will accelerate wear on the rear part of the ski. Also, the front hole has a steady stream of snow coming up through it by the carbide rod.
Different host bar lengths change the handling attributes. The 3-bolt carbide with the 4.5" staggered set up found on stock 2021's was the best balance of ski performance to steering effort in testing.
The rear part of ski is also much higher then the lowest point (Carbide + Stockbar/hard weld) should not have adverse effects on wear.

I just picked up a Stryke ski kit for my '20 SW, also purchased the Qualipieces (Top Gold) dual offset runners (A08-106-06). Does the leading edge carbide (front) go on the inside of the ski or outside, my runners aren't marked?
