alot of the trails i ride are tight twisty ungroomed trails. then i get on open rivers with 2 to 3 mile stretches.i would like the boost for the rivers but i don't need to be hitt'n any trees when i'm crusin through the trails.what i'm asking is hows the response at 30 mph on tight twisty trails, managable or holy sh@% don't touch te throttle.
It is true that response is much higher on s/c'd sled but it is very managable on tight trails and for boondocking, infact that is where it shines the most. You simply use less throttle comparativly than you would have. The system is making a min of 2 psi boost at clutch engagment and around 6 to 7 cruising at 30 mph but it is not like having a power band or dealing with turbo lag.
On my last ride we were riding in some very rough and twisty conditions. Not a problem staying under control with my Supercharged 05 RX-1, I just simply didn't use the throttle nearly as much, but when we would get into an open stretch I would fly by everyone else like they were going in reverse! Like Abe said above, my clutch engagement is set at about 3500 rpm and while cruising 25 mph I had 5 lbs of boost, but it is very ridable as it's easily controlled by the throttle!
