I like the ulmer pink better but I needed some rpm so I threw in the black/teal.How do you like that spring compared to the Ulmer pink in the primary?

I am running MS 16 with Thunder heavy hitter's TP orange primary, TP orange secondary at 3-1. CAI, TS BOV, and real happy with the set up. 67.4 with the Heavy Hitters and runs 8950. strong but smooth on bottom then about 6500 sled turns into a beast, very hard pull til stock gear is maxed out. 1200 miles on XS825 belt still looks new. John and Terry at Thunder gave me the set up and was right on the money.

Awesome to hear. Thanks a lot for the review. I’ve been back and forth about a multimap and turbo force or intimidator exhaust or just getting a stock muffler tune. I don’t think the stock muffler sounds that bad and on a long day I don’t think I’d like having it any louder. 4 strokes that are loud seem a lot louder riding than a 2 stroke to me if that makes any sense. I think I’ll just get the stock muffler tune. Is the ms16 any more picky about fuel than the power trail? It’s 5hp more than power trail?

I have both of there orange springs,i might give that primary spring a try again,w/Dalton ramps, and stock helix w/Dalton new orng/blk spring.I am running MS 16 with Thunder heavy hitter's TP orange primary, TP orange secondary at 3-1. Dennis, did you ditch your daltons, and reinstall your stock ramps again?
No did not ditch, just playing around with old stock clutching components. This one has lowest engagement and best mpg, very smooth set up for now and as good on top end. Daltons are easy tune but I need the Dalton springs for full compliment I read. Just cutting corners a bit at home until all settles out with retirement checks due to commence.
This set up is no slouch Pete.

Stock type ramps are generally good on top end period, and my stm are same shape as stock,i just wish I had bought his qay,s,and now I have modified the daltons I now have,so I couldent sell them if I wanted to. But I am still working on them, and when I get back up to my sled,i now have my front lower mo-flow vents to try, just need to borrow sons Rotozip tool, makes life a tad easier to try and work on bottom pan, while its on sled.No did not ditch, just playing around with old stock clutching components. FYI, Pete.
I found that 2 grams less, + or - , is needed when utilizing the Daltons versus the stock ramps.
With all other components staying the same , with QA70 total of 71.9, still a bit heavy@ 8850 cold and 8700 hot.
Stock weighted total of 73.8 seems closer, 9100 first run with cold clutches, and once warm 8850 or so ! Nice rpm spot for me.
So yeah your Dalton DTA-1 are way off for this Max Spool 16 tune without some crazy primary spring to offset.

So you are running max16 with modified stock weights only? What about your springs and helix?

Stock springs and I like the 35/39 helix.
My secondary clutch has had the spring pocket machined to prevent coil bind so I could use the 35 helix, and I have !

So, if I want to run MS16, and I don't want to run a bazillion studs, would a modified stock weight be a better fit than a dalton weight?

Depends on your capabilities. Dalton ramp and weights are easy and adjustable for different components and tunes.
Adding to the stock ramp weights, take a bit of testing but is cheap and works well for me and the mid tune of the Max Spool 16.
Keep in mind that I am not a racer, just a trail type guy! Max Spool 16 is very powerful for trails.

I only trail ride. No drag racing, no lake running.

I only run 91 in my sled regardless but will take any 91 whether it's with or without Ethanol and never any issues. Though I would try to avoid it I'm sure if you had to put 87 in for a tank and drove it.normal you would be ok.
