"About the Totallyamaha web site. I really want to go and should be able to go next week. The reaction is so great and we get so much good comments that I had not the chance to go there and answer there questions. You know that Yamaha guys are 80% of my market , so we have to take care of those guys ! if you go there before me, let them know I am coming and I apologise for the late answering !
talk to you soon !
Jean-François Couture"

Yamaha, you should partner up with these guys and offer this skid as a option on new sleds. This could be the next leap frog in sled design.

Jeff\ADBoivin, Is it true the "old" expert will no longer be available? It was to be my next purchase. I like metal parts being a machinist!

I already have the Expert that I just baught last season. If it will no longer be made, then will replacement parts still be available. I spent $1800.00 on this skid last year and I will be highly pist off if I can longer get parts. :o|

Hi Guys !

I am Jeff and will try to answer you guys as good as i can !

The reaction to the ZX-2 is geat and we get really good comment like i told BA APEX. Thanks BA APEX !
I apologise for the late answering but something is sure. i will answer all of the questions that are ask to me.
This is why sometime it take so long. So be patient and talk to you soon !

J-F, glad to see you show up here. This is the one and only "LabradorBoy" here, I'm sure you can figure out who this is.

For those of you who do not know Jeff, he is an upstanding gentleman who will certainly answer all of your questions in due time. ADB is forced to be a small organization by design and to those people who just say "hire more people", English speaking assets in the town where this company is situated are minimal. Bare with them, they are a grassroots company that is full of good people; if one of the technicians can't help you with a problem, Mr. Denis Boivin himself will quickly pick up the phone and you can discuss with him.

If any of you are having trouble getting through to technical staff, don;t forget that Aaron Excell of Excell Motorsports (yes, the exhaust guy) is a longtime ADB dealer and no doubt has some good info on these skids as well.

can we add rail extensions, i plan on extending my rtx to 128" this summer ?.

There is a picture on www.adboivin.com showing an RMK with huge extensions, so 136" and such should be easy to handle. Considering that they are accommodating all of the Cat and Poo models, there should be a 128" option.

If the people making the composites are good, this would be stronger and more resilient than a metal skid. I'd love to see Yami do this with the mono. I had an expert a few years ago and hated it. About all it was good for was weight transfer.

PPD is the manufacturer of the rails; the same company that manufactures almost all of the idlers and skis for the entire snowmobile industry, so they have their sh!t together.

Okay, what exactly is the "unique subsion effect when you hits bumps". Need a French translator? Ad boivin site faqs give the lengths and weights by- the- way. Edit; ZX2, I'm asking about. RR

This is supposed to be "suction" effect. That's the whole concept with VDF (vertical downforce) which is introduced when the forward part of the rail is coupled properly to the rear of the skid.

ADB should run spellcheck every now and then, that's for sure.

The parallel arm angles design looks similar to an M10...

Agreed.

I am curious about the weight transfer characteristics of this skid. If they indeed maintained Expert-like weight transfer abilities with a front and rear torque arm layout similar to that of the M-10, they managed to do something that FAST certainly couldn't.

Just curious, did he say which series it was run in and who was running it?

It was run on local circuits to localize any significant publicity early in the development, but used by very high calibre racers that really gave it a good pounding. Several composites were tried before a decision was made on one that would work the best.

The same guys that tortured the Snow Hawks tested the ZX2-equipped sleds and man, they were rough on gear.

Your totally right Jack shaft !
what else can I add !

Jeff, I do have two questions that I'd like for you to clarify:

(1) Will the 136" and/or 128" ZX2 be a continuous rail, or will it be a 121" skid with small extensions, as was used for the Expert X?

(2) If you plan to use rail extensions (and I suspect that you will), will there be a 144"/151"/etc. continuous rail option or will these lengths be accomplished through rail extensions bolted onto the 121" skid as well?

Jeff,
Another question for ya.....how lonf will replacement parts still be available for the Expert? Are you in fact going to quit producing the Expert?

Thanks...

Here's what I understand...
121" rail is the standard rail - anything longer is a bolt on extension up to 162" (could be a 151" with a setback). I may have misunderstood some information, Jean can correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what I understood.

Was considering an Air-Wave from FAST until now, time to re-think.

My concern is wear points as this is a no lube design, replaceable bushings would give me a very warm fuzzy. Otherwise the main components will wear/elongate and require replacement.
Has this been asked?

Dear Mr Seifried,

We use very large (pivot ) points wear surface. Don’t worry about bushing replacement there is no élongation possible with large pivot connection and wearing is neglectable.

Thanks for your questions
