Yes I did, that is something I'm looking at too. But we have very little snow, and can't really test. I might be trading it in on another sled?...
I don't blame you. If you do this clutch fix you will have so much fun you will have to keep it.
Lol...I just want to trust my sled and sorry to say I just don't trust the Viper! It's a great sled that has several issues to fix before it will be a great reliable sled!
Just look at how many people have read and replied on the belt issue! That's crazy!!

After all the testing Allen did you aren't going to give it a try now , at one point you couldn't wait to get what he was working on ..."
But you can't go wrong with the new polaris , I was thinking about it but I'm going to give the new 800 a year to see what happens with it !

Lol...ya I really want to see what Allen's set up is like, but I want to get as much as I can for the Viper. I'm a little nervous with a new sled cause it will be hard to beat the handling of the viper. But the Polaris has clickers on all four for fast adjustments. I have alway liked Polaris and I have owned 4 of them. So no real reliability problems. I have rode both the switchback and the rush and love hoe they take bumps. I know I'm getting another new model! But my dealer is really close and I know them and they now sell Yamaha. So when they figure out a great sled I can get one at my close dealer!! My dragons both had over 7000 miles and never had a issue. Neither did my Yamaha's until this one. April 15th is coming quick and I want the Pro X. So I will have to make up my mind soon.
I got a real good price for mine and my wife's Vector. So I think I might have two new ones next year.
But I will on all snowmobile sites remain YamahaTim!! Cause that is what I like! And I shouldn't have any belt issues!! Wish me luck!
I love this site and will still come on here and talk! Cause I'm Yamaha at heart! And when they get one figured out I'll be back!

You will never have any clutching problems with a polaris , they have awesome clutches , I've always been a polaris guy , then I got the 09 nytro , I have been looking at the new polaris as well , but I haven't had a single problem with this viper so maybe I will do another year on it and see how the 800 polaris is at the end of next year !
Well good luck with it , and I'm sure you will !

I have no problem with that Tim except one catch... I do NOT want to hear about your Polaris on this site... there is a place for that.... and its not here. If your going to make a choice ... DO IT, dont talk about it until you find the person that finally give you the answer you want to hear and dont over sell it... stick with your decision and move on.

Lol...that was not very nice
I won't talk about it if and when I get it. I would not brag about it or say anything bad about Yamaha! I respect your site! I would still help and talk with people!! Sometimes my 2 cents is a good thing
Plus your statement to me didn't have anything to do with a belt.

I don't think flirting is for this site, there is a place for that and it's NOT HERE!
This is about the 8DN belt. And you did not include that in you comments at all!

Just a little off topic. There is just so much going on with the belt and the clutches. Weather Yamaha was really off with the clutch set up or the 8JP just not tested enough, or the 8DN is what they should of started with. This is a thread that has a lot of good info in it! Even though some has been off topic, pretty much just like all the other threads. Or most of them anyway.

I don't want to start a huge fight here, All I'm saying it's getting too long winded and it's time to start a new thread that states the facts not the BS!! 33 pages is too long.

Right on, it is long! But very helpful. Pretty much everyone that has a Viper knows about this 8DN belt and has tried it. So I try and just let the thread go to the second main page. But people still are trying it or want info. But I agree, some BS in here as well. Sorry about that!
No worries, your not starting a fight it's all good! I just think people need to give it a shot. I get PM all the time on this subject. Almost three a day. So it's still helping people even with the BS. But it is long.

Same here.....I will try anything....and I am glad I did.
No BS here, just real results. The best part is the 8DN with the idea that Stingray had and me trying it out = holy crap!!!!
It's cool when all of us guys can come up with a plan that works!

I am puzzled more people are not trying the fix especially after you posted the results in real time via youtube.
