Anyways seems like we got the warranty discussion done.
I know with the mpi turbo kit they fixed the oil leaking into the air box, if I go with the hurricane kit is there a way around this?

Could just get the reroute from MPI or make your own.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I just never seen anyone do it, I'll need to see if I can find the proper brass fitting that goes in there, I'll do my turbo sled and my NA.Could just get the reroute from MPI or make your own.

If you go with hurricane And you want to fix the oil problem buy MPIs Oil separator bypass kit

Post some pics if you do it I'm interested in how to do this to my hurricane kit. That's exactly what I was thinking. I just never seen anyone do it, I'll need to see if I can find the proper brass fitting that goes in there, I'll do my turbo sled and my NA.

The kit won't just bolt on hurricane uses the smaller hole for the turbo the same hole mpi uses for the bypass. If you go with hurricane And you want to fix the oil problem buy MPIs Oil separator bypass kit

Those are special threads on that hole.
Unless you retap the hole in the stator cover you're probably not going to be able to do it yourself unless you're pretty good at machining parts

Is it the return line from the turbo? If so couldn't I just tee into it?The kit won't just bolt on hurricane uses the smaller hole for the turbo the same hole mpi uses for the bypass.

i do not know what line is the return line but these are the two spots the hurricane kit uses for oil.Is it the return line from the turbo? If so couldn't I just tee into it?

Guys the MPI reroute was for a specific problem related to moving the oil separator, that is why MPI never marketed it for stock sleds. Might not get the results you expect.

You cant use a tee becasue you would be joining a drain line ( slight vacuum) with the turbo oil return line (under pressure) with the tee. So you would have a chance to suck oil back up the drain line via the tee. There's 2 holes in the stater cover, using them both is the best idea.

Just curious why you don't think it would work on a NA? It doesn't matter if its a turbo or NA sled they both have the same problem with oil entering the oil/air separator box and then pushed into the air intake box when tipped on there side (right or left) depending on if the box was relocated.

The oil line to the air box is still there, the MPI kit just reroutes the oil return to the bottom of the tank to the engine. I bought the kits and was going to install on ours before I turbo them and after looking at it decided not to. The MPI with moved separator when tipped not all that far over lost its ability to gravity feed to an oil tank already half full, your stock location separator does not have that same problem. But then again it might help, but for reasons other than the MPI issue, will be interesting to see who tries it and the results.

This problem starts on a NA sled when oil goes backwards or up the oil return to the air/oil separator box . So when the sleds on the side oil can flow from the bottom of the oil tank to the air/oil separator box and then into the plastic air intake box. Then it drips out the bottom of the intake and makes a mess on everything, Been there done that many times. With MPI's reroute on that drain line you don't have to worry about back flow because there no oil at that level on the stator cover. If the sled pulled over on either side that return line entry point will never be submerged in oil. So if no oil is there, nothing can flow backwards out that line. This is the same for a MPI sled even though the air/oil separator box is moved to the other side, the plumbing remains the same.
