Want HOT hands?..It can be done!!! EDITED FIRST POST

You can change the 06 bars and wiring to 07 parrallel specs, I just did mine yesterday before we head for the UP, and they get hot the best thing I ever did.

So does anyone have an idea as to why the handwarmers don't work so well on the FX Nytro ? Is it possible to wire them in parallel (if they are not already) to get more heat, or should I conclude that it's not a wiring issue on this sled, but more of an issue with the ecu, rectifier, or stator ? Appreciate some input guys, been to the dealer over this and they're lost on the issue as well ! :o|

According to SnowTech Magazine, the handwarmers on the FX Nytro and Phazers actually turn off when the brake light is "ON" or if the engine speed drops below 1000RPM. Not sure if this is the reason for what you are experiencing.

I too am sick of my cold hands.. Even with the guantlets and 07 bars and set at high my hands are always cold..

Ive got few questions..

1st.. what is the highest you can go (setting wise)before you need to worry about blowing the computer?

2nd.. Do the plastic hooks get warm with this new setup??

I for one love the hooks.. im always using them when riding..

Welter....

I have not heard of a single problem with ECU at any settings....but for what its worth, ive had mine at MID setting for some hi speed running for quite sometime last season on some very cold days,no issues.....the main thing here is you wont want to go any higher then about 2 bars ever as they are so hot..

one crummy thing is the HOOKS obviously cannot get warm, due to no heater on the hook itself...when it gets real cold my pinkies do get cold compared to index fingers....even though the grips will get super hot,you still can get cold toward ends....but since they get so hot its rare to ever feel COLD hands overall.....

the best setup overall would be if we could get the 06 grips to heat to the end....i guess the 07 bars just dont work the same as the original HOT GRIP type.

this still is BY FAR the best setup for having HOT hands while utylizing the stock gauges and switches....and by far the simplest to install if you have the 07 harness with 06 bars, just plug and play!

hope that helps.

my 06 bars sucked, all i needed was the harness that bridged the two grips together, went out bought 07 bars thats when i noticed the harness, the harness is what i needed to make my 06 bars hot!! but the 07 bars have heated hooks 06 bars don'nt 07 bars have lines that run through grips which i think help a little. got the bars from yamaha for $30 assembled!THEY GET REALLY HOT!! i have to turn them down now!

UPDATE..

I put the 06 bars back on with the 07 harness..

I cant believe how hot they got just sitting in the garage at idle.. (something that never happened before)

I cant wait to ride the sled tommaro and see how hot they get..
