What Did You Do To Your Sled Today???

Put in a new starter relay in my Phazer and now it starts!

Pulled the skid out to get the shock rebuilt and see about taking off the grease zerks to weld nuts and screw in a zerk with a check ball since I somehow managed to break off 2 of the zerks anyway.
 

So far this month...installed my star suspension, oilite bushings and spindle bushings also put new plywood and LED lights on my snowmobile trailer...waiting on my OFT relocator and oilites and then I'm finished...looks like I also need new snowtrackers...lasted over 5000 miles.
 
I had my 3 and 5 year olds help me with the pipe mod for the skis today :letsnow:
 
Finally got around to getting my shocks reinstalled after I had the revalve and rebuilt from HYGear will be interested in seeing how they work. I also bought myself a Xmas present friday got the new tuner ski from Yamaha to put on my Nytro XTX and got the rear skid reinstalled under the sled which is quite a job by yourself but with a little patience and a couple of rachet straps its not that bad of a job. Fired he up for the first time since I changed the oil in the spring sounds awesome cant wait to get on her and go riding. LET IT SNOW!!!! :yam:

I removed the sticker on my 2012 Apex SE that said do NOT use BATTERY ACID to clean my windshield WTF???
 
I hope you remember that little piece of advice a year from now when you're standing over your windshield with a rag and a bottle of acid^
 
I have tried several times to upload the photos I've taken with no luck. What I did was cut 2" pipe off at 6". Then sectioned the lenght of pipe into thirds to create cresent shaped pieces. Drill the sections of pipe to fit over the front 2 bolts of your carbide. Be sure to drill holes large enough to fit over the bolt heads and weld. This will help reduce the size of the gap created when sandwiching the pipe between the carbide and ski. You have now created 2 extra cuts the ski will make when running down the hard pack. Sorry for the lack of photos as I am not real computer savoy. I believe there is a write up on this somewhere on TY but I could not find it. In the future I am going to try to weld the pipe section directly to the carbide by removeing the width if the carbide from the backbone of the pipe section hopefully this will work and eliminate the gap between the ski and runner. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the explanation - I got the idea. It's kind of like homemade snowtrackers but they are rounded instead of shaped at 90 degrees. So I guess at the very front you would grind down (round) the pipe to reduce the drag? How thick is the pipe you use? There is probably info tips on here somewhere about uploading pics; there's different ways to do it - one thing is to resize them smaller on your computer before uploading or they won't be accepted.
 
Cleaned my secondary clutch and put in a new spring and new ramp shoes or buttons.

Now I got to decide if I want to replace my driveshaft bearing or just service it again...
