99 SRX 700 was my best, close second was my 02 viper and now close and getting better is my 2010 APEX LTX GT. I have to admit I still miss my SRX on those big winding logging road trails. That motor flat out rocked ( tripple/ tripple) I loved to make her breath hard and she just wanted more! Loved that little 700! My apex is really alot beter on the bumps and her motor is really long legged on the lakes! here kitty kitty.... ;)! :sled1: :sled1:

My first Yamaha was a trailing arm Phazer MountainLite. That was fun little sled with good shocks, I still have the 96´Vmax4 MountainMax (136) what rocks on flat trails, never ending power and speed. More than a year ago I sold my 07´RX Warrior (Attak in US), after I got tired of the constant problems with the weak rear suspension.

Of those three I must say that the V4 in the most fun. In the bumps it is terribble, but when the trail opens up , it was faster than the 4-stroke by a good margin.

Best trail sled...?
Without doubt the piped, ported and very much modified Viper I had around 2002-2003.

Most fun trail sled...?
Without doubt the 1993 Vmax-4 I currently have...!

Mine was a 2000 SRX with an RX1 skid, Ohlin shock extenders on the front, Predator 1.25 and a Bender clutch kit. I could hit the bumps with speed much better.

Well honestly my Apex GT is the best trail sled but the 97 SX tripple was awesome and still runs awesome even though seh sits most of the year. I have to say the Apex is having a lot more problems and breakdowns then the SX ever did. SX broke once on me vs Apex 3 times. 1997 vmax 700 through to 2002 I think was one of Yamaha's best design years.

When trails/rivers are smooth my SRX without a doubt. My Phazer allows my out of shape body to make it to work next day though even if the trails are rough.

I'm also going with 99 SRX.....fast in the trails and a rocket on the lake....it was good on fuel/oil too.....i had over 20,000kms and never had a issue....nothing like powering around a corner on one ski.....don't get me wrong I love my 4-stroke, but nothing pulls like a hard running SRX...but my lower back would disagree...

By far my 02 xc 700 sp was the best trail sled....hands down and 2nd my 95 xlt 3rd my 97rxl .....I would say my 02 viper is right up there too

Man that's a tough one. Between my 2001 SRX, 2010 Vector, and my current Apex, I think my vote goes with the SRX. That thing was on rails and was a rocket!! I miss that sled. I should have never sold that!! Dumbest thing I've done in life.
